Who: Ernie MacMillan and YOU.
What: Getting out of the house for a while.
When: Afternoon.
Where: London. Shopping area.
Rating: TBD.

His uncle, as it seemed, wasn't one for moping. He seemed to have enough respect for Ernie to leave him to his own affairs, knowing that he was having a hard time of it dealing with the loss of his mother, but even Ernie knew that that was only going to last for but so long. Before he knew it, he was being forced into clean clothing, shoved out of the house, and out onto the streets. "Go out and get some fresh air, kid," he'd heard as he gloomily stepped out onto the sidewalk, "It'll do you some good."

Hands shoving into the pockets of his jeans (while living in New Zealand, Ernie had learned to blend in with muggles well enough, as his job was right on location with one of their beaches), the former Hufflepuff slowly began to walk, his dark eyes looking toward nothing but the ground below him. Maybe it was good that he was getting out. Away from the dark room that he constantly hid in. No food, no socialization...just him, sitting on his bed, staring out the window with nothing more but pained memories running their way through his mind. It probably wasn't good for him, sitting around like that. And that was why he was here. Walking outside, taking in the sun. the cheerful people around him, and the life that he seemed to have missed while he was holed away for so long. Ernie found that he hated it all. Which was odd, considering that he was always a big fan of all of these things. He was usually very positive and upbeat. But now...well. If someone could even get a positive remark out of him, they'd probably have done it by work of magic or some other spectacular feat.

Before he knew it, Ernie found himself wandering through a shopping area. It wasn't anything that he really recognized, so Ernie blankly walked through the streets, eyes raising away from the pavement below him every so often to glance off at the windows, filled with items used to tempt those passing by. He didn't stop. He didn't look at any of the people. Instead, he kept walking, eyes glued to the ground, looking as gloomy as ever.

Ernie lifted his gaze from the ground and looked up, green eyes turning over toward Megan, who had appeared seemingly out of nowhere. He tried for a smile. It didn't look terribly convincing, nor did it ever reach his eyes. "Megan." He hadn't thought that anyone would find him, wandering about this part of London, as it wasn't exactly swarming with wizarding folk, but the odds had been against him. He now had company to fend off so that he could get back to his sulking.

"Uh..." He closed his eyes for a moment and shook his head a little, almost as though he were trying to shake away his exhaustion. "...how have you been?"

Megan had been expecting a similar response to the one she had received from Ernie, but that didn't mean she was happy about getting it. She frowned slightly as she took in his haggard appearance, his obviously forced smile. He looked... miserable.

"I've been good," she answered, though it was a bit of a lie. After all, she had gone through a rather unpleasant and emotional series of events lately, but she knew it was nothing compared to what he was going through. She paused a moment, before murming, "I've missed you, you know."
