Entry tags:george weasley, megan jones, ron weasley, spencer capper

Who: Ron Weasley, George Weasley, Megan Jones, and possibly Spencer Capper.
What: Drinking!
When: Evening.
Where: The Leaky Cauldron.
Why: Why not?

Fingers threading through his bright hair, Ron Weasley pulled the door to the Leaky Cauldron open and stepped into the pub. After determining that, no, it was not terribly crowded inside as of yet, Ron made his way over to the closest table and tossed his jacket over one of the chairs, officially dubbing the table as his own. Then he turned away from the table and walked over to the bar. Sadly enough, the gorgeous barmaid that he and Spencer had been discussing earlier was nowhere to be found. Tom the barkeep, however, was. Since Ron frequented the bar every now and then, he found that he and Tom were on fairly decent terms with one another, even if the man seemed to be more than grumpy with the world half the time. Offering him a light smile, Ron leaned against the bartop and scanned the shelves of various drinks that were spread out behind him.

"Right. I'm going to need a bit of firewhiskey. Might as well make it a bottle, yeah? I've got some friends coming in." Ron waited for Tom to fetch the glasses and bottle, then carried the items back over to the table and poured himself a round. He didn't exactly want to start without them, but since work had been a bit brutal that afternoon, Ron felt as though he deserved a drink as soon as possible. And since he happened to have a glass sitting right in front of him, Ron decided that it was well worth giving it a go. Tilting his head back, he poured the liquid down his throat. Which, of course, burned quite a bit. Blinking a little, Ron set the glass aside and swallowed it down. Satisfyingly painful. Story of my life, Ron thought to himself with a bit of a smile as he reached out for the bottle yet again.

Megan Jones had never been much of a drinker, and really, if one knew her, it wasn't such a surprise. She was a bubbly, sweet, giggly little thing, and one didn't often associate sweet with the burn of alcohol. But on the occasions Megan did happen to get a hold of some alochol and put it to good use, the results tended to be rather amusing. Poor Megan couldn't hold her alcohol to save her life, and she knew it. She always showed up with a limit for herself- which, of course, she forgot two shots in- and she had done the same this evening. No more than three. Yes. Three.

Strolling into the Leaky Cauldron, Meg smirked slightly to see Ron already at a table, already started. She made her way over to him, placing a hand on either of his shoulders. "Starting without me? Shame on you, Ron Weasley." The grin on her face, however, clearly revealed just how unashamed of him she was.

Ron nearly jumped in surprise the second he felt someone touch his shoulders. He turned his head, brows rising slightly, then allowed a bit of a sheepish grin to cross over his face. "You know me," he said as he rose from his seat. "I just can't help myself." He pulled Megan into a friendly sort of hug, then gestured toward one of the open seats. "Now I suggest that you sit your arse down and have at it, otherwise I'm going to finish off this entire bottle and leave you without a single drop to yourself."

He returned to his own seat, poured Megan a round, and slid it toward one of the vacant seats. "Come on then, yeah? Let's get you started on that life lesson."

"Ron Weasley, teaching someone else a lesson?" George snorted as he approached the table, reaching out to ruffle his younger brother's hair. "This can only end in disaster."

He pulled out a chair for Megan, then flopped down into another. "And starting without us, I see. No manners at all."

Megan returned Ron's hug with a laugh. "Alright, alright. Merlin knows what would have happened if I'd shown up ten minutes later!"

And before she could reach the chair Ron had gestured to, she was intercepted by another Weasley. "My chaperone's here!" she exclaimed gleefully. She sat herself down in a manner much more lady-like than George with a cheery, "Thank you," as he pulled out her seat.

"I was just telling him the same thing!" she told the elder Weasley brother.

"I think you'd best pour another round before George and I get upset, Ron," she teased.

Ron scowled a bit and made a pointless attempt at flattening the fringe that George had just tampered with. Then he rolled his eyes and reached for the bottle. "It's not my fault it took the pair of you ten hours to get here," Ron informed them. "This stuff doesn't just wait around for anyone, you know. Drinks poured and at the ready, Ron set the bottle down in the middle of the table and picked up his own glass.

"Cheers, yeah? To, er....puppies. And the good of mankind. And booze!"

"Cheers to puppies and mankind and booze," George nodded in agreement, lifting his glass and downing it quickly. As he lowered the glass back to the table he revealed a face all twisted up in a mixture of pain and surprise.

"... Don't think I got all the Magma Melties off my tongue after all," he admitted, coughing a little. That had burned an awful lot more than it usually did.

Scanning the dark bar for the gorgeous barmaid he had mentioned earlier, Spencer's face fell slightly as she was nowhere to be seen. "Hey Tom," He greeted the barman somewhat sullenly before his eyes fell upon the table containing both Ron and George.

Not seeing his ex-girlfriend as he went over to the table, broad hands clapped down hard on George's shoulders, "What's this, then? Two Weasleys for the price of one?"

It was then Spencer lifted his head to greet whatever sweet treat the boys had found, only to realise it was his former sweet treat. "Ah, Meg." A cloud of awkardness passed over blue eyes, "Slumming it us blokes, today, eh?"

Megan had been in mid-laugh at Ron's rather interesting choice of toasting when she saw Spencer approaching. She tossed back the alcohol quicker than she might have at another time, grimacing as any decent lady would as it burned its way down her throat.

"You could say that," she answered Spencer, setting her glass back on the table and trying to keep her mood up despite his sudden appearance.

"Let's have another, Ron! We can toast to my chaperone for the evening, yeah? And his... interesting new invention!"

Ron offered George a somewhat sympathetic look as he tended to pouring more drinks around for everyone. He didn't know much about the invention that his brother had been working at, but Ron imagined that the side effects of testing it on himself probably weren't terribly fun to deal with. Which was why Ron was very glad that he had refused to try it out himself. Better George than him, he figured. Halfway through with pouring their second round (his third), Ron gestured toward one of the open seats and nodded off at Spencer. "Sit down, yeah? No use in just standing about while the rest of us are getting pissed off our arses."

He poured a round for Spencer and set it down in front of a vacant seat, then reached for his glass yet again. Lifting it up, he shot Megan a bit of a smirk as he said, "Cheers to that!" And then he downed his shot, eyes burning a bit from the impact of it all.

George tilted his head back when he felt a pair of hands drop down onto his shoulders and offered the man there a smile. "Well, you know how we Weasleys are. Can't turn a corner without finding one, so you're bound to double up on them now and then."

"I'll definitely drink to that," He nodded in Meg's direction. "Though let's make it to Fred too, yeah? He's still at home dealing with the effects of the second batch."

"Truely. There won't be enough room for our kids to be in Gryffindor once the spawn of you all hit Hogwarts." Spencer said with a laugh, taking the drink from Ron with a grin and taking it like a shot before grabbing a second.

"What happened to the second batch?" And then, addressing Ron: "I'll never understand how you survived growing up with those two as brothers. I mean, surviving against You-Know-Who, that I can get - but these two? Props, mate, real props."

He was unsure of how to address Megan.

As the second shot went down, Megan felt a familiar warmth and fuzziness in her chest. One more and she would have her limit, but, of course, with the arrival of Spencer Capper, it was highly unlikely Megan would be stopping herself any time soon. "You'll just have to space them out properly," Megan informed George. "Time them with your siblings' so that they're not in the same year and all that."

She reached for the bottle to pour herself another, raising a brow at the Weasley brothers to silently ask if they wanted another. Talk of children with the bloke she'd dated for years made a girl thirsty.

"You say that like it's a bad thing! The more Weasley's, the better!" So far, Ron had taken in the most out of all of then. He was already starting to feel a bit dizzy. But as far as he was concerned, that was a good thing. So long as he didn't stand up or anything. Because then he'd start having problems with the balance and all. "And, you know, I've been saying the same thing for ages. No one knows real pain until they've lived under the same roof as those two gits."

Grinning, he glanced off at Megan and then at Spencer. Even if he wasn't on the verge of being completely drunk, Ron wouldn't have noticed the awkward tension between the two of them. He wasn't so brilliant with the relationship sort of stuff. Maybe if they just lost it and started to flat out scream at one another, he might have picked up a hint or two. But otherwise? Ron would remain completely clueless about it all. He had a bit more to drink, then nodded as Megan started to pour more around. He wasn't joking around when he said he had plans on getting himself entirely wasted. This was, as Ron would later claim, very serious business.

"Well, they weren't quite as hot, but they came out a lot more goopy. He's still trying to scrape it all off his tongue," George explained to Spencer, frowning faintly. He'd have to work that out later...

"I agree!" He raised his glass to Ron. "I think if the lot of us work together we could get enough Weasleys in each year to have a right monopoly for years to come."

"You're just lucky we like you," he informed Ron, happily accepting the drink Megan poured him and flashing her a winning smile. "Imagine what it'd been like if we treated you like Percy?"

George was trying to decide how to handle the obvious tension between Megan and Spencer. He could flirt with her (more than usual) and that would make her feel better, he was sure, but might make Spencer angry. But he didn't want to bee too buddy-buddy with Spencer and alienate Megan. Relationships were so complicated. Maybe Ron would keep knocking them back and get drunk enough to make a fool of himself and distract them all.

"It'll be a blinding mass of red." Spencer confirmed solemnly, "I want to be there to see Snape's face when the first wave of your kids come swarming in!" A rowdy laughter escaped Spencer's mouth almost involuntarily, causing him to glance down and realise he had somehow had five drinks already. How had that happened?

To be honest, Spencer wasn't awkward around Megan due to the discussion of children. Sure he had perhaps entertained notions of children together, but never voiced them, because...well, hell, that was scary! It was always so much easier for blokes after a break up than the gals. Spencer was awkward however, for the simple reason that he had been used to treating Megan a certain way for so long, and even though it had been almost two years since they had broken up, they had never established a new pattern.

It was then that the pretty barmaid appeared, a fresh bottle of firewhiskey on her tray. "Well, hello there fellah's" She greeted, recognizing the boys from their random jints to the bar, "Just came on the late shift, and lucky me to see you lot here. With a lady nonetheless! Which one of these handsome devils is your boy, love?" She directed toward Meg before leaning down and placing the bottle on the table giving both Ron, Spencer and Meg a good view of her cleavage. Sorry, George, you chose the wrong seat.

Five drinks in and Megan's cheeks were flushed pink. She had always been a rather giggly girl, but with alcohol in her, Megan tended to find everything giggle-worthy, which was due mostly to the fact that almost everything somehow translated to something sexually suggestive.

As the barmaid and her rather... ample chest- which, Megan thought to herself, had to have been pushed up by some sort of charm, as there was certainly no way breasts could look like that without help- came into view, Megan's nose scrunched up. She would never be able to make men ogle at her chest, that was for certain, and she didn't appreciate the barmaid making her look bad. Sheesh. "Well," she gestured with a perhaps too large grin to George, making a point not to look at Spencer. "He's my chaperone for the evening."

As soon as the barmaid leaned over, Ron did as well. So much, in fact, that he ended up losing his balance entirely and toppling onto the floor. Chair sprawled out beside him on the floor, Ron cursed and scrambled back onto his feet. Looking sheepish, he offered the barmaid a lopsided sort of smile and rubbed at the back of his head. Then he extended his arm out and said, "Hi. I'm Ron Weasley. You know. Harry Potter's best mate." Yeah, using that card would totally win the lady over. Or at least he was certain of it in that moment.

Swaying a little, he grinned. "We save the world, you know. On a daily basis. I'm the sidekick. Except, you know, not. Harry couldn't do any of his heroic acts without me. We're a team, yeah? A fantastic team! D'you....d'you wanna be a part of our team?"

George was a bit disappointed that he was missing the show the barmaid was obviously giving, but the way Ron was making a fool of himself was quickly making up for it.

"Oi, Ron! How many drinks did you have before we got here?" He leaned over and snatched the glass from in front of his brother. "I think you'd better slow down. Next you'll be talking about how you taught Merlin all his best charms."

"I am," He returned Megan's smile when she informed the barmaid that he was her chaperone. "I've got to protect her from these two clods. They obviously can't hold their liquor."

Spencer burst into loud laughter as Ron went sprawling on the floor, and then, just because he was a good friend, "It's true, eh? Fought all sorts of beasts to save the world."

The barmaid tittered, looking upon the youngest redhead with new eyes. So *this* was that Ron Weasley. In her bar. How ideal.

As Megan made a note about George being her chaperone, Spencer's left eye twitched for just a moment. He quickly threw back another drink.

"Clods? Why don't you tell the young lady what you've got on your tongue there, mate?" Spencer laughed, and then, having now had almost as many drinks as Ron had, "And she doesn't need protecting from me, we used to date." He explained to the barmaid. "Right, Megsy?"

Even with a load of alcohol in her, Megan tried to be a bit on the polite side when Ron fell, but of course, the hand covering her mouth didn't do much to hide her laughter. It served him right for looking that woman in the chest instead of the eyes!

"Pffft. It's you I need the most protection from, Spennikins!" Megan insisted. Speaking drunkenly helped to take the edge off of the things she said, but it didn't make them any less true. "That's why I've got George here!" she placed a hand on George's knee and gave it a small squeeze, smiling brightly at him.
