Getting to know Miss Know-It-All
Here's Hermione Granger.

Often referred to as a bookworm or a 'know-it-all'.
Muggleborn; both her parents are Dentists.
Top in her class at Hogwarts.
Surprised people by being sorted into Gryffindor instead of Ravenclaw.
Showed why she was in Gryffindor instead of Ravenclaw during her years at Hogwarts.
Best friends with Harry Potter and Ron Weasley, and has a very complicated relationship with Ron.
Can become a bit scary when she's angry or upset. (Canaries)
Has read almost every book ever written.
Works in the Ministry's Department of Magical Law Enforcement.

Alright, Hermione's ready for you questions! Shoot 'em at will.

(Will return with Terry soon.)

What ever happened to S.P.E.W.? (I won't pretend that I haven't heard of it--even though you didn't directly...advertise...to those in Slytherin. As far as I knew.)

What do you think of Slytherin House and what it stands for?

S.P.E.W. sort of died off in school, partly because of everything going on with Harry at the time and partly because of a lack of support and interest. But before I came to the into the Ministry's Dept. of Law Enforcement I worked in the Dept. for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures and started working on equality laws for non-wizards and witches. I've brought that work over to my current job and am currently still working on it. Also, I generally advertised S.P.E.W. around Hogwarts; anyone with an interest and willingness to help was welcome.

Generally, I have not had pleasant experience when it came to Slytherin House or it's members. I do believe that cunning can be a great quality, but I did see it often abused and used for less than honorable causes. Cunning can be good, but not if used in a selfish manner as I often saw. Also, I do not agree with Slytherin's apparent superiority complex. Bloodlines do not define people, and that should be realized. I do sometimes admire Slytherins for their blunt honesty, but there is a difference between honestly and being rude. All in all, I don't have a great opinion of Slytherin House, but do believe if it's members didn't think so highly of themselves and were less self-oriented they could do great things instead of the negativity brought on by previous members. I'd also like to add that though an individual's qualities are often highlighted by their House, I do not believe the House necessarily defines the individual. Is that sufficient? I can expand my points further if necessary.

That's a pity. On both matters. I don't have a superiority complex. I'm just better--
And I suppose that is sufficient.

Well, I have hopes to make progress in the areas S.P.E.W. hoped to improve, and who knows, maybe someday I will have the opportunity to bring it back as an official organization. It's always a possibility.

You know, I've just realized this now, but I should have added that you're the only Slytherin Alumni to be civil to me and therefore do not completely fit the generalization I created from my past experiences. I hope no offense was taken.
