Showed why she was in Gryffindor instead of Ravenclaw during her years at Hogwarts.
Best friends with Harry Potter and Ron Weasley, and has a very complicated relationship with Ron.
Can become a bit scary when she's angry or upset. (Canaries)
Has read almost every book ever written.

Alright, Hermione's ready for you questions! Shoot 'em at will.

(Will return with Terry soon.)

1. Why not become Minister of Magic? You have the talent.
2. Why do you put up with Ronald Weasley? Honestly?
3. Ever get tired of being called Harry's sidekick?

1. Thank you. I actually never thought about becoming Minister of Magic, but if the opportunity arose I'd certainly take advantage of it. All the things I could about equality, these regulations that have been put up, and so many other things! Thinking about it now makes me want to go add it into my career goals. Maybe I will.

2. Ah, Ronald. That's complicated, but I'll put it in the simplest way I can think of: he makes me happy. For every argument we have there are at least a dozen times he makes me smile or laugh. I've yet to meet another man who affects me the way he does, and I doubt I ever will. No matter what, I can't imagine not having him around.

3. Well, in a sense, I was Harry's sidekick, though I don't exactly like that wording. It was Harry's battle, but he couldn't do it alone. He needed support, but he had a duty that he had to do. Ronald and I were there to provide that support. We both most certainly helped and played crucial roles in the victory again Voldemort, but it wasn't about us as much as it was Harry. So, yes, I do get quite tired of being called Harry's sidekick, but in a way I understand why I'm referred to as that.

1. Since your parents are dentists, how come you didn't go into the health field?
2. What's your deepest, darkest, fantasy about Ron? :)
3. Do you think Harry Potter is a looker?

1. I considered going into the health field, but gradually came to realize I was more passionate about doing something that could make a difference in the world, so I went into law. I hope to put laws into action for equality for non-wizards and witches.

2. Well, I- er, that's a bit- I don't know what you're talking about.

3. I do think Harry is handsome, yes.

1. I can't believe you snogged Krum. I'm better, yeah? I snog better. Loads better. I shouldn't even have to ask this bloody question. Of course I snog better. He's got crooked teeth. Least I can have at it without threatening to cut you with my mouth. Ha!
2. Where do you see yourself ten years from now?
3. Who do you think you'd be if you'd not become friends with me and Harry? Would you be different than you are now?

1. So what if I snogged my boyfriend at the time? If I remember correctly you used to worship him. Honestly, Ronald, I can't believe you're asking this. Why does it matter? And Victor does not has crooked teeth, nor did he ever "have at it" and threaten to "cut me with his mouth" as you so kindly put it.

But since you asked, I suppose I have to answer, so: yes, I think you snog better. Or rather, I prefer snogging you.

2. I see myself having hopefully having made some progress with equality laws for non-wizards and witches, gone traveling to all the places I want to go, settled in a comfortable home, married, started my own family. I have a more detailed plan if that's the type of thing you were looking for.

3. I probably would have become friends with students from Ravenclaw, people who have the same passion for knowledge and learning as I do. I probably wouldn't be as outspoken or confident; the two of you alone expanded my personal boundaries a great deal.

I did not worship him. AND HAHAHAH I WIN.

You have a PLAN? Oh jeez.

Honestly, Ronald, this is not a competition. And yes, you did worship him. You almost died when you found out he was coming to Hogwarts our 4th year.

Actually, I have a few different plans. I haven't looked at them too recently, but what goals haven't changed drastically since I made them.

If Hermione's so into the knowledge of everything, why does she ignore aesthetics and beauty? Why does she consider it to be below other types of arts or knowledge?

Does Hermione consider herself to be uptight?

What would Hermione give up-- sex or books?

1. Hermione doesn't ignore or consider beauty and aesthetics to be below other types of arts or knowledge. She has just always found beauty to be a complicated and somewhat challenging concept. There is no book revealing every secret to feeling or being considered beautiful, so it is a sometimes confusing path to tread for someone who relies so much on definite knowledge.

2. Uptight probably wouldn't the word she would use, but yes, Hermione has realized she can be a perfectionist and over-thinks sometimes. It's something she's slowly trying to work on.

3. That's an interesting question, requiring some thought- but as much as Hermione believes that both are important in life, there is nothing like books and knowledge, which allow information to be passed on and allow questions answered.

1. What would you do if you realized you were turning into Molly Weasley?
2. Have you and Ron done it yet?
3. Will you name one or all of your children after me?

1. I do admire your mother and believe she is a great mother and witch, but if I found out I was turning into her completely I would probably take a vacation.

2. George, that is private and personal. My relationship with your brother, and how we spend our time together, is no one's business but ours.

3. You have a great name, George, but isn't that thinking a bit far ahead?

That'd probably be best for everyone concerned.

I'll take that as a yes.

Never too soon to start naming heirs. Merlin knows I'll never be trusted with children, so I'll just have to mold my little neices and nephews into perfect little hellions.

I suppose it would be best. You'd tell me if I was turning into your mother, right?

Can I ask why you are so interested in my relationship with Ron? And, not saying I don't believe in my relationship with Ron, because I most certainly do, how do you have so much faith that you're positive any children I have will be your nieces and/or nephews?

Oh, no worries there. We'd have an intervention before you got too bad. One mum is quite enough.

Again, having none of my own, I have to give attention to other people's relationships. Besides, he's my baby brother, I've got to give him a hard time about everything. And you might as well be family so you get the hard time too. And even if they're not with him, they'll still call me Uncle George, right?

Thank you, I appreciate that.

Ah, right. I feel as though I should have known that. And yes, no matter what, though I can't really see myself with anyone but your brother, they'll surely call you Uncle George. I can assure you that.

What ever happened to S.P.E.W.? (I won't pretend that I haven't heard of it--even though you didn't directly...advertise...to those in Slytherin. As far as I knew.)

What do you think of Slytherin House and what it stands for?

(Reply to this) (Thread)

[info]mione_jane
2008-08-06 11:49 pm UTC (link)
S.P.E.W. sort of died off in school, partly because of everything going on with Harry at the time and partly because of a lack of support and interest. But before I came to the into the Ministry's Dept. of Law Enforcement I worked in the Dept. for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures and started working on equality laws for non-wizards and witches. I've brought that work over to my current job and am currently still working on it. Also, I generally advertised S.P.E.W. around Hogwarts; anyone with an interest and willingness to help was welcome.

Generally, I have not had pleasant experience when it came to Slytherin House or it's members. I do believe that cunning can be a great quality, but I did see it often abused and used for less than honorable causes. Cunning can be good, but not if used in a selfish manner as I often saw. Also, I do not agree with Slytherin's apparent superiority complex. Bloodlines do not define people, and that should be realized. I do sometimes admire Slytherins for their blunt honesty, but there is a difference between honestly and being rude. All in all, I don't have a great opinion of Slytherin House, but do believe if it's members didn't think so highly of themselves and were less self-oriented they could do great things instead of the negativity brought on by previous members. I'd also like to add that though an individual's qualities are often highlighted by their House, I do not believe the House necessarily defines the individual. Is that sufficient? I can expand my points further if necessary.

That's a pity. On both matters. I don't have a superiority complex. I'm just better--
And I suppose that is sufficient.

Well, I have hopes to make progress in the areas S.P.E.W. hoped to improve, and who knows, maybe someday I will have the opportunity to bring it back as an official organization. It's always a possibility.

You know, I've just realized this now, but I should have added that you're the only Slytherin Alumni to be civil to me and therefore do not completely fit the generalization I created from my past experiences. I hope no offense was taken.
