Each character will awaken in a room with another character and will be missing their journals. Each will have their own very comfortable twin bed. The Room is comfortably accommodated and should the subject look into the closets of bureau they will find clothing appropriate to their sense of style and size. Each room has it's own bathroom complete with toilet, tub and shower. Each bathroom is stocked with products the character would be familiar with.

The doors to the five bedrooms all open into a large common area which includes a television (no cable; just a large collection of assorted movies and an X-Box with an assortment of games); a bookcase with various titles and genres; a large sectional sofa; a dining table; and a large kitchen. The Kitchen will have an induction cooktop stove; a large refrigerator; various appliances and copious amounts of fresh foods. The style of this room is contemporary but comfortable. The floors are carpeted and everything is modern.

Clearly, this room is intended to make the subjects comfortable. Conspicuously absent: Windows.

There is an area which is clearly a door; however, it has no handle from the inside. Over this door is a large blue sign "Departure Point." A sign on the door indicates the following.

"Thank you for your participation here at Vas Captio. This area is intended for your use and comfort. Please be mindful to be clean and courteous as this room will be occupied shortly after you leave. Further instructions as to your departure will be included as they become more final. Thank you for your patience."

Kitchen: Gambit and OTA - Breakfast

Remy felt rather accomplished this morning. After scaring poor Lexie to death (oh, that had been fun, though he'd never actually had a woman react that way to him being naked before.. maybe he was losing his touch), the Cajun had gotten himself dressed in his nice, clean clothes, and had wandered out to the common room in his socks, pushed at the door, read over the writing, then took a few peeks around.. but it had been the kitchen that ultimately grabbed his attention. And so there he was, in the kitchen, fully dressed but without shoes (and still with damp hair), cooking up something that only he could call 'breakfast'. Why breakfast? Because he'd just woken up! Lord knew what time it actually was.

The smell would make it through the entire apartment. You all can thank TPTB for this wonderful treasure, because they'd made the ingredients appear, right there in the fridge. And the smell?

Oh. The smell.

There would be the distinct scent of bacon, but it was off, somehow. Also, the smell of eggs, and something strange that tinted it a shade thicker. He had fresh vegetables out and pancake batter. Oh, really, the ingredients left out on the counters looked good, it was just the smell.. the smell, was wrong. The smell was off. Just wait until he decided he wanted dinner. Breakfast wasn't really that bad.

And in lower (swampier) parts of the world, the Cajun was actually an amazing chef.

Not here.

Sausage and gravy pancakes were pushed onto a plate, the little bits of sausage sticking out of the pancakes like blueberries, before he was coating them in sausage gravy like it was home-made syrup. Following those pancakes was an omelet. It looked harmless enough, until you looked closer. Sausage, ham, tomato.. were those.. pieces of shrimp? No. Crayfish. And that, that brownish green? Those were frog legs. And on top of the omelet, he was smearing some horseradish, and throwing on some spices, just for flavoring. It was the bacon, next. But not just any bacon, caramelized bacon, covered in two full cups of brown sugar and cooked up to perfection. And last, but not least? Sausage puffs. Sour cream, lemon juice, ground sausage, green onions, flour, black pepper, and enough cheese to kill a goat.

Oh yes. Welcome to Louisiana, captives.

"Anyone wan' breakfas'?" The red-head shouted out towards the common room.

That wasn't amazing food. It was a horrible thing to do to food. It would have been better to toss it all out.

Ianto, clad in pinstripes and gaberdine, wrinkled his nose as he came into the kitchen to seek out coffee and possibly toast. Maybe a danish. What he found was a sight to make anyone weep and not in gratitude. Because while that was cuisine down on the bayou? It wasn't very edible to Ianto. The gravy pancakes actually were making his queasy.

"Um. You cooked for everyone. How .. generous of you. I don't eat much in the morning, though, I'm sorry." Thank god he didn't eat much in the morning.

As Leonard came out of his room, pushing the door shut behind him because he didn’t want to leave any impression to the woman still in bed in that room that he wanted company, his chin lifted and he breathed in deeply. He smelled food. Breakfast. He was sure he smelled bacon – God, he hadn’t had bacon in so long. It had been years.. his team had been given it as a reward for winning a competition, when he was about ten years old. Every so often they’d been given rewards in the form of food, from over-the-top Thanksgiving dinners to Christmas hams.. but generally what they ate was less than stellar. It was a special occasion for Leonard to have something like bacon.

God, it smelled good.

He wasn’t sure what those other smells were, he wasn’t used to a variety of good, greasy breakfast foods like so many people were, so he didn’t recognize the smell of sausage or pancakes or even the horrible fish products the Cajun was adding to his food. He also didn’t think it smelled off, either. So he was leaving the room and moving towards the smell, heading through the common area and taking in the television and the comfortable looking couches before moving along towards the kitchen, just as Remy was shouting that there was food ready. Good, he was being invited.. he wouldn’t have to just go in and take it.

Blue eyes shifted over to Ianto, who had come in just a few seconds before him, before Church was moving forward in all the glory of that sky blue tee shirt he was wearing, heading right over to where the food was piled up to be dished out. Long fingers reached out and he picked up a sausage puff, looking it over a moment before popping it into his mouth and chewing. Unlike probably everyone else who would try this food, Church didn’t make a face. He chewed on the little ball before swallowing and turning to look at Remy, who was obviously the one in charge of all of this cooking. He stared at him a moment before reaching out around him to pick up a piece of bacon, lifting it up and tilting up his head so he could dangle it above his mouth, before letting it fall in so he could chew.

“Fuck me sideways.” Groaned out after a moment – bacon and brown sugar? Whoever had come up with that should have been made a God.

Gambit glanced over his shoulder with a grin and lifted up his eyebrows almost expectantly. "Y'know, y' shoul'n' jus' assume t'in's gonna tas'e bad, homme. Y' shoul' try 'dem firs'. Grew up on 'dis stuff, ain' gonna hur' you none." That was reminded with one raised (ungloved) finger, before he lowered it and reached over to start turning off the stove. Really, there was only enough for two or three, right now. But he was clearly willing to cook more. He enjoyed it.

"Jus' wai' 'til y' see wha' I'm makin' f' dinner." Because he was assuming they were going to be in this place for a while, and he certainly didn't mind at all. He just wished that he had a way to be able to communicate to the others where they were. Too much to ask for, he thought. Too much.

But then they were being joined by a second man, and Remy had to look up at him, which was a rare occurrence. Being six foot one, he was either squarely staring at people, or he was looking down at them. But this? This was a change all together, and he watched calmly as a puff was taken, head tilting a little to the side as the man didn't blanch. Well, that was good. Then he was reaching around his thinner body (which Remy shifted for him, to help him get to that oh-so-good bacon) to snatch up a piece of bacon and try it.. The Cajun almost held his breath, waiting for a response. He knew the bacon was good, if nothing else. He'd never had someone turn their nose up at the caramelized bacon.

And when the taller man groaned, Remy broke into a wide smile. "Merci." He responded simply, to the obvious compliment. Then red-on-black eyes were turning onto Ianto and he lifted his eyebrows. "Leas' try 'de bacon, non? Y'go' uh tes'imonial righ' 'dere. Ain' so bad." He nodded towards the bacon then, almost insisting -- and really, if Ianto was going to try something, the bacon really did taste good.. it wasn't something you'd want to eat every day, but it was more like cotton candy, something for an occasional treat. It would certainly be odd the first time, as it wasn't something anyone would expect (brown sugar on bacon? why?), but it didn't taste bad, not at all.

No, it wasn’t bad. It was amazing. Church was picking up a few more pieces and pushing one more into his mouth, pursing his lips and sucking the sugar off in his mouth before chewing on the bacon again, eyes shutting as he swallowed the piece almost whole. As Remy tried to talk Ianto into having some of his food, Church was finishing the bacon he’d picked up before moving to pick up a plate, and reaching out to help himself to at least one of each of everything that Remy had made. Once he had a pile of food on his plate, the taller man was turning to face the two of them and he lifted one of those frog-leg omelet’s up and taking a large bite, one of the green appendages sticking out of his mouth as he chewed before he lifted his hand up to pull the leg out from his lips, lifting it up to eye it a moment before looking back at the cook, and then he popped the frog leg into his mouth and bit down with an audible crunch.

Huh.

His face twisted into a curious expression as he chewed and then swallowed, and he set down the half omelet he had left in his hand. “Don’t know what the fuck I just ate,” He began, pushing his tongue out over his lips and then he smacked them once. “But do you have any more? Christ.” He was lifting the omelet back up and taking another large bite, before stepping forward right between the two shorter men, moving over to the counter opposite them so he could set the plate down and then lift himself up to sit on the countertop next to his plate of southern delight.

Remy returned to watching the stranger as he pulled out the small leg, the greenish brown passing through his lips. He was silent as he inspected it, but as there was no foot attached, it was much harder to identify. But then he popped it back in, bit down, and chewed it up. The Cajun held his breath. But then the plate was set down and his hopes faded some-- until the man asked for more, and the red-head audibly moaned. Sorry, Church. Sorry, Ianto. Neither of them would get a word of this, but it didn't matter. Remy was so excited that English eluded him, and his knees were starting to feel a little weak.

"Oh, mon Seigneur Dieu." He purred out those words like a contented cat, his body swaying only a little as he did. "Regardez-le. Maintenant c'est comment un homme mange. Il sait de bons aliments quand il le goûte. Oh, oui. Vous faites mon estomac tout tingly et je ne sais pas même votre nom. Vous marierez-vous avec moi?" Gambit threw out one arm in a very theatrical gesture as he asked that-- whatever it was that he'd asked, a wide smile spreading across French-kissed lips. "Nous pourrions faire des tonnes de petites omelettes ensemble, vous et moi. Petites omelettes et crabe tirent des bouffées et le curry de sauce. Ce sera magnifique." Now there, that was magnificent. At least he thought something was good, if you couldn't tell from all of his flailing and moaning and declarations of love. "Attendez jusqu'à ce que vous goûtiez que je planifie pour le dîner. Gombo en bas de famille et un Durkey. Il ressemble à une petite tranche de ciel ici sur la Terre."

That said, he was letting out a contented sigh and starting up the stove again. Oh, Church, he'd make you anything you wanted -- anything he could think of.

The people in this apartment were going to be green by days end if someone didn't put a stop to this. But really, who was brave enough to go in there and stop a clearly off-his-rocker Cajun and a six-foot-six man who wanted to eat the food that the off-his-rocker Cajun was cooking? Not anyone in their right mind.

[Translation: Oh, my Good Lord. Look at that. Now that's how a man eats. He knows good food when he tastes it. Oh, yes. You're making my stomach all tingly and I don't even know your name. Will you marry me? We could make tons of little omelets together, you and me. Little omelets and crab puffs and gravy curry. It'll be magnificent. Wait until you taste what I'm planning for dinner. Down home Gumbo and a Durkey. It's like a little slice of heaven here on Earth.]

The great thing was that even if Church was told that he’d just eaten a frog leg, he wouldn’t have cared. Really, half the battle with most people was getting past the fact that the food they were eating was something foreign to them – Church didn’t have that problem. He’d been out stuck in the middle of a forest with nothing to eat but lizards and snakes and, yes, frogs, on countless occasions. Food was food, and so long as it tasted good (and really, frog legs weren’t so bad, especially the ones in these omelets with all their seasoning and flavor), Church wouldn’t have any problem with it. Thankfully, he liked spicy, and almost anything the Cajun made was bound to have some spice in it.

Gambit might not think that either man in the room would understand him, but when he started spewing French, Church’s head tilted to the side and his brows lifted curiously when he was spoken to like that -- well. To his meddled memory, Church hadn’t ever committed a sexual act, but it didn’t mean he didn’t know what Gambit was talking about, didn’t mean that the way he was moaning out his profession of love in French didn’t perk him up a little. And the fact that he was talking about food made it so much better.

Leonard stuffed another piece of omelet into his mouth before he was sliding off of the counter and moving towards Remy, pressing both of his hands against the warm metal of the stove on either side of the mutant before leaning forward near his back, chest hovering a few inches away and face hovering over his shoulder, looking down at the stove top. “Gotta try that gumbo before I’ll marry you, cookie.” Spicy, smelly breath came with a smirk.

Being more like a curious cat, she followed Church from their room and into the kitchen. She was starving, she never realized that until now and she took a long walk around the area while grabbing a plate. It seemed there were so much easy food that she could devour more than she needed, but she wouldn't do that. Turning her eyes to the two men, she felt really, unbelievably nervous while she took some pieces of grilled chicken and an omelet with cheese for herself.

Her eyes were on the two males there, looking up from her food and back to them as if the would try to steal it from her. This caused her stomach to tense and when she started eating, she would probably not finish what she took.

Not to mention, they were ridiculously good-looking, which didn't happen often for her.

Remy purred out a noise deep in his throat when the taller man spoke. He'd responded. That meant he understood French. And the Cajun might have been able to speak up about that, except that with the darker man up so close to his back like that, asking to taste his Gumbo? Oh, nothing intelligent would have come out anyway, so he just shifted his body back a bit and pressed his hips back, firm bottom meeting squarely with the Spartan's hips, because though Remy was five inches shorter, he had most of his height in those impossibly long legs, so their bodies lined up quite nicely.

Don't take him too seriously, Church, he was just messing with you.

"Gonna be 'de bes' Gumbo you ever have, homme. Promise. You gonna love it." And maybe he'd make some desserts that everyone else could eat, too. Though, as he was cracking another egg open into the pan in front of him, he noticed the girl snatch up some of that omelet. If she thought it was a cheese omelet with a few green olives in it, she was going to be sorely mistaken. The only omelet made was the one Remy had created, and she'd crunch into bone eventually, and likely need a drink, for all the spices he'd put in there. But the fried chicken that she'd taken out of the fridge, at least, wouldn't be Cajun-touched.

"Bonjour, Mlle." He greeted the young woman with a charming smile and a lift of one gloved hand, fingers wiggling as he did.

Merope was a sight braver than Ianto, who wrinkled his nose at the cuisine and went about making coffee and toast. Plain toast with jam. Even the smell of all those spices couldn't drown out the ambrosial scent of coffee brewing and Ianto took a deep and appreciative breath while waiting for it to finish.

"I don't know," he told Gambit. "I'm Welsh. We're not noted for our spicy and interesting foods." Says Ianto Jones who loves curry as hot as it comes. But it didn't do any harm to play it up that he was used to bland things. It might get him off the hook of having to try bacon and brown sugar.

"Besides, I'm sort of a vegetarian. It's a really long story."

Sarah Jane was also lured out to the kitchen by the smell of food cooking. From the moment the aroma of bacon had hit her nostrils, she was reminded painfully of how hungry she'd been. Granola bars and other snacks from the petrol station weren't filling enough, and her mouth watered at the thought of a proper breakfast.

"Morning all," she said upon seeing the small crowd gathered in the kitchen. "Anyone started the tea yet?" She grinned at Ianto, who was the only person she counted herself as knowing in the room, as she slid past him toward the plates of food. She wasn't sure what everything was, but given that people were eating it, it had to be safe, right? She pulled out a plate and scooped some of the omelet onto it, then helped herself to a little of the caramelized bacon. She'd never had that before, but bacon was bacon.

As she was sliding out to make room for others to take a bit of food, she noticed Merope eating her chicken. "You're Walter's friend, aren't you?" she asked politely, remembering the girl from the cot in the gym days earlier. "How are you feeling?"

"Vege'ian?" Sorry, that didn't come out right, and it wouldn't. Not ever. It wasn't a word in his vocabulary. Not really. The Cajun liked meat. But he was smiling over at Ianto, anyway. "'Das okay, homme. You can have 'de sausage pancakes wit' 'de sausage gravy." Yeah, he really had just said that. Like sausage didn't count as meat. "C'est stupéfiant." He assured him with a wink, before the older woman came wandering in, and Remy was shifting his body away from Church to stand closer to the stove.

When she took some of the omelet and the bacon, Remy paused his cooking and turned to watch her. He wanted to see her eat it, and the look of expectancy was clear on his face. The chef wanted to see you taste the food, Sarah Jane. Go on!

When Gambit shifted back like that, Leonard looked down past the front of that light blue tee shirt, past the white lettering spelling out ‘Blue Army” across the front, and settled his eyes down on Remy’s lower back and his rear end as he pressed it snug up against him like that. Now, even if Church had his memory back, he wouldn’t remember ever touching another man, or even thinking about it, but certain situations brought different reactions out of different people, right? And Church was an equal-opportunist. So he rolled his hips forward with a smirk, fingers curling into the stove top as he turned his face to speak nearer to the Cajun’s ear… it would be hard to tell if he was being serious, or just playing along with the game, but Remy was about to learn that French wasn’t the only language the Spartan could speak. Church was about to learn that, too.

“IO testamento gusto tutto di tuo Gumbo se è mezzo come buono come il riposo di tuo carne, Monsieur.” That was lulled out in Italian that came to him easily and came off of his lips with the touch of a perfect accent… he’d even thrown in a little French on the end, to amuse his new friend. Because they were definitely now friends. Even if Gambit wasn’t capable of speaking Italian, the languages were so similar in their Romantic Latin roots that he would be able to understand the gist of the message… especially the bit at the end, which he had emphasized.

When the other man, the one making coffee, finally spoke up Church turned his head to the side and when Remy pulled his hips forward he stepped away from the mutant, glancing at the two new additions to the kitchen, offering a little wink to Sarah Jane as she piled that food on – she was in for a wild ride. “Good chow, Braque.” An easy slang word tossed out, calling the Cajun a ‘prick’ as if he’d known him all his life, before Church was moving to pick up his plate again and he headed right out of the now crowded kitchen, moving towards the common room, where he’d seen the large television.

[Translation: “I will taste all of your Gumbo if it is half as good as the rest of your meat, Monsieur”]

...Oh God. Sarah Jane was eating the omelet. Ianto put on a kettle of water for tea, since she had asked for some, and his eyes widened when he turned back and saw her serving herself up some breakfast. Someone needed to warn her.

"Um. Good morning, Sarah Jane. Um. Those eggs might be a touch spicy, if you catch my drift. Remy is a cajun cook." The fact that the omelet was amphibian..? Well. He didn't know that part, thank god. Just that the spices Remy used had cleared out his sinuses entirely. Which wasn't a bad thing. Just weird.

Merope felt her breath get caught in her chest the moment Remy waved at her. A pinkness rose to her cheeks and she lightly nodded towards him and stayed where he was near as for some reason he seemed like the strongest person in the room and she was quite small. She was looking for any familiar face and she tilted her head when the name "Walter" came to light when a woman mentioned that they were friends.

"..W-Walter? Oh-Er, I'm okay..now. Rorschach saved my life." Rorschach had never told her his real name and she didn't catch on.

Try to think about it, she messed with the omelet and noticed the scent. She didn't know it and the way they were talking about it the food sounded dangerous. Very lightly, she touched Remy's arm and leaned in,"..Is it poisonous?" She frowned,"Can I have non-poisonous one?" She asked, eating the decently warmed chicken as she remembered it being cold only a moment ago? Now it was warm?

Weird.

Gambit flashed a wide grin over his shoulder at the parting tall man, oh, he'd gotten your point, .. Church. That was what the back of his shirt said! But his attention was hauled back by the young woman, who seemed intent on the omelet and-- Poison? Had she just asked if it was poison? Really?

"Ain' poison, petite. Jus' somet'in' new. Cajun cookin'." Okay, was everyone ready for this? Really ready? He was about to let you all know exactly what was in that omelet.. so listen hard, Sarah Jane. Ianto was trying to save you from eating that, and you were going to find out why. "Go' some sausage in i'," Normal enough, right? Just you wait. "An' some spice, cayenne pepper, banana pepper, re' pepper, bell pepper.. an' some garlic," Oh, he wasn't done yet. Keep waiting for it. "Lil' bi' o' ham, an' some tomato f' colorin'. An' 'dem pieces?" He pointed with a finger towards some of the pinkish looking pieces that clearly were not ham. "Crayfish, 'dey so goo' f' you, petite. An' 'de mos' impor'an' toppin'? 'De frog leg. Skinne' an' cleane', bu' 'de still go' 'de bone. Jus' uh lil' crunch." Oh, and he looked so proud about it.

"G'wan. Try it."

It was okay, Merope.. the closest bathroom was just there, through that door. You could go throw up if you felt the need. You too, Sarah Jane.

Merope stared at Remy, she didn't want all that stuff as her stomach probably couldn't handle it. Moving her hand lightly, she tapped his arm again, but didn't know how to tell him that she didn't want to eat that. Merope usually ate everything she was given but she couldn't eat something that might make her sick.

She knew better than to ask for something else from him, she looked a little lost as she placed the plate back to allow anyone who wanted it to have it. "..C-Can I m-make something?" She asked as lightly as she could.

Sarah Jane had a forkful of omelet halfway to her mouth when Ianto mentioned it was probably a bit spicy. She shrugged. It couldn't be more spicy than curry take-away, she reasoned, popping the bite into her mouth. However, while it wasn't more spicy than the curry that Luke liked, it was at least as spicy, and her eyes widened just a bit as the flavors hit her tongue. She hadn't been expecting eggs to be quite so strong. She also bit down on something that was squishy in a way eggs generally weren't, and tasted vaguely of fish.

She managed to chew and swallow her bite without, she hoped, looking too surprised by it all. "Quite unique," she said, looking over to Remy. It wasn't bad, she decided, just very, very different than what she was used to. It vaguely reminded her of having a luncheon with the Doctor years back on some alien planet she'd forgotten the name of. She took another bite, now more prepared for the flavor, and noticed the bit of crayfish this time. That would explain the texture in the previous bite.

She smiled at Merope. "I'm glad," she said. "He was quite worried about you." She had misunderstood Merope's reaction of confusion as polite inquiry.

She took another forkful of omelet. "My son would find this fascinating," she said, looking back at Remy. "What's in it?"

Gambit couldn't help his laugh when the poor girl asked to make herself something, and he shook his head, that damp red hair flicking a little and clinging on to his neck or his jawline. Long hair, for a man. But that was just how he wore it. The ladies liked it. "Non, petite. I make you somet'in'." He promised with a smirk, before glancing aside at Sarah Jane. "All sor's o' stuff, Madame. Go' some sausage in i', an' some spice, cayenne pepper, banana pepper, re' pepper, bell pepper.. garlic. Lil' bi' o' ham, an' some tomato. Crayfish, an' frog leg. Skinne' an' cleane', bu' 'de still go' 'de bone. Jus' uh lil' crunch." He repeated for the older woman what he'd just told the younger girl standing to his other side, before he finally realized he didn't know either of their names.

"Mon nom est Remy LeBeau, satisfait de vous rencontrer." French. Sorry, ladies. He'd realize his mistake soon enough and.. "Remy LeBeau, 'das my name." There we go, he repeated himself in English. He had thought about using 'Gambit' as he had since coming here.. but it didn't have a point to it anymore. The people pulling the strings knew who he was, and thus there was no need to hide it from anyone else.

Sarah Jane listened to the ingredients carefully. She'd probably never make something quite so...eclectic...for Luke, but the boy would want to know about it, nonetheless. Each ingredient on its own didn't sound too daunting, but put all together in the one omelet, it made quite a list. "Always a surprise, then?" she said, grinning and taking another bite. This one was full of ham and peppers, which was more like an omelet she was used to.

"Sarah Jane Smith," she said, finagling her plate and fork into one hand so she could offer one to Remy. "We've spoken on the journals. It's a pleasure to meet you in person, Remy. And thank you for breakfast." She took to the bacon next, and had to close her eyes at how delicious it was. Whatever he'd done to it, it made the bacon the best she'd ever had. "It's quite good," she said after swallowing her mouthful.

"Sarah Jane," Ianto said, watching her devour the omelet with what looked like enjoyment, "I think you might be my new hero. Um. Tea's up, if anyone would like some?" Seriously. Ianto blinked several times and stuffed a piece of toast into his mouth (where had the toast come from?) and reached for mugs.

"Coffee or tea for anyone else? I brew both perfectly." It wasn't an exaggeration, either. The tea smelled wonderful as Ianto poured and the coffee damn near made him groan out loud. There was no helping an addict, really. Shuffling around people, he found spoons, the sugar bowl and a little pot of milk, which were set out by the mugs.

Hair still damp from his shower, L made his way down to the kitchen, conflicting scents assaulting his nostrils. Certain foods, he knew simply shouldn't go together, and it only took a glance around to hazard an educated guess at just who would be haphazard, careless, and tasteless enough to think that such a breakfast would taste good. He had lots of reasons to dislike Gambit already, of course, but this certainly didn't help the man's case in L's judgmental opinion.

He walked in just in time to hear Ianto offering coffee and tea. This immediately interested him. "Tea, please," he said in his quiet, formal baritone, glancing at the man with dark, furtive eyes. "That's kind. Thank you."

"Oui, pleasure t' mee' you too, Mrs. Smit'." The Mrs., of course, because she was older.. he assumed she had to be married. It was just one of those things, one of those ways Gambit had about him. "An' gla' you enjoyin'." Not many people could handle real Cajun cooking. All of those American Cajun knock offs? Silly people, that wasn't Cajun. Sausage pancakes with sausage gravy? Now that was real Cajun food.

And he was cracking open a few more eggs into the pan, and adding only cheese (which was boring, but something that Gambit could definitely do). And after working on it for a bit, he finally added a little bit of garlic, salt and paper, then a few onions, but stopped there. He wouldn't turn your omelet into some monstrosity, Merope, he promised.

Ianto was flashed a smile when he asked about the tea and the coffee. He was a nice guy, wasn't he? Quiet, yeah.. but smart. And though the Doctor didn't seem sure about the suited man in the kitchen, Gambit was pretty sure that he was a great sort of man. A person who'd be a good friend, and likely someone good to work with-- and the other guy? Who was that? Remy, of course, had never seen L before, and though L knew who he was right off (he was the only Cajun in this big glass box, and it made him very distinct), the red-head was still at a loss, so: "Bonjour." He welcomed him easily, and with a cool smile. "Breakfas'?" The omelet he was presently dishing out was big enough for five. Yeah, Remy was one of those. Always cooked way too much. It was a curse!

Lexie hadn't come out of that room for a while. She'd taken a long, hot shower and when she'd come out she felt almost human again. She'd dried her hair, found a pair of jeans and a t-shirt. She was more happy with the socks and underwear, though. She sat on that bed, staring across the room at the windowless wall. Why?

She'd smelled the Cajun cooking and it made her stomach turn. She was hungry. There were just so many people out there now. So very many people. She needed to take a few minutes, processing this gilded cage. She needed to stop thinking of Andy and Dean. Elliot and Sam. She needed to stop wondering what was happening to them. Were they in a room just like this someplace else? Or were they going through something truly terrible? Hugging her knees she just stared at the wall thinking.

Slowly she climbed from her bed and out the door into the common area, her stomach lurched at the odd combination of smells that hit her. What had he been cooking, anyway? Walking up to a cupboard she peeked inside finding it stocked with a variety of foods. Another cupboard she found some bowls, and finally she hit the motherload: Ceral. Pouring a bowl of cocoa puffs and finding a spoon she filled her bowl up with milk, taking a seat at the counter with the oversized bowl. It felt almost like a Sunday.
