Entry tags:!complete, day 18, location: barn, nymphadora tonks, remy lebeau

Who: Tonks and Remy LeBeau
What: Tonks is rummaging for food and checking out an area for various things
Where: The Barn
When: Around 530pm, Day 18
Rating: PG
Status: Complete

Tonks had a list of things that she needed to do. In spite of her seeming absentmindedness, she liked to make mental to-do lists in order to keep things prioritised. The first thing, after having finished the survey, was turning it in. Then she was trying to figure out why there was a pink plastic watch on her left wrist, with a little plastic guard to keep it from being scratched. She wondered if the time that it said was really the same time. But couldn't find answers to those questions. And now? Now there were three important things to tick off, one after the other.

Number One? Eat. She hadn't eaten all day, and knew that she ought to. Though it was numero uno on her list, Tonks actually was taking the scenic route toward the gas station. The very scenic route. Item Number Two was to find a secluded place for Remus (because she didn't know that Rose and someone else was, or had been, doing the same thing) and Item Number Three? Use that same secluded space right now as her personal practice field. She had found some twine and wrapped Luna's old wand back together. But a broken (even if mended) wand was dangerous. And if she was going to practice a few hexes, then Tonks wanted a place where no one else would be.

It was why she paused at the barn and studied it so carefully. There had been someone in there earlier. Remy LeBeau, with the fun accent. But he had been one of those who disappeared. Maybe he hadn't made it back yet. Maybe he wouldn't. So, with that thought, the witch checked in the back pocket of her jeans..to assure that both her journal and the broken wand were there..and headed toward the barn. She intended on looking inside to see if there was any hint of anyone coming back.

She wouldn't even have to go that far. When she got through the thick forest that obscured the sight of the barn from the road, she'd find the red-headed Cajun, soaking wet, sitting out in front of the barn on an overturned bucket, with another bucket in front of him, and a long sheet of metal that he'd managed to find while rummaging through the barn-- it had once been a folding metal chair, but not anymore. He had torn the seat out of two chairs, and had melted them together by forcing together two of the sliced pieces under pressure and heat (human soldering iron, like the Doctor had imagined) and he'd started pressing the metal, folding it like a fan to make the beginnings of a washing board.

She would also note the immediate smell-- a very nice smell, in fact. A smaller bucket was sitting next to the Cajun, partially filled with water, and chock-full of flowers and leaves and other things he'd found that had smelled nice. It wasn't exactly a bar of soap, but if you washed your clothing with that water? They'd certainly smell nice, though they wouldn't be actually clean. But they'd be dirt free from the scrubbing, and smell nice from the flowers.. but they'd still have any germs and bacteria. But don't you worry, he had an idea for that, too. See over there, off to the side? A fire, and a make-shift metal pot, made out of other parts of folding chairs, with boiling water in it. And he had his other set of clothes thrown in there, cooking. Then he'd scrub them and make them smell nice, and hang them up to dry..

That reminded him, he needed to make a clothes line. Luckily, he had rope in the barn too. Not much though.

However, the noise of crunching through wet underbrush caused him to lift his head and lock red eyes onto the woman, pausing in his bending of the metal-- he was half way done with it and it was very obvious what it was, if she looked at it.

Tonks wasn't trying to be particularly quiet and, if she was, it might have been difficult anyway. But at least she wasn't finding all of the roots of trees to trip up on! Just two. And a half. Because she caught herself on that last one. Either way, she paused just outside and was watching the scene that was unfolding before her.

"Are you making a washing board?" This was asked half in incredulity and half in admiration. It was almost silly to be washing clothes in such an environment. But at the same time, it was an ingenious plan. One way that the enemy got people down was to make them feel inhuman. Dehumanize a person and soon you break their spirit.

Nothing else was so humane as normal, everyday things. Like washing clothes. "That's brilliant!" Chirped from the witch, bopping over in near want to throw her arms around the Cajun in a hug. She managed to refrain though. At least for the moment. While she was closer, Tonks took a look at the whole setup. "You'll need a clothesline. Oo, I think I saw some pins at the chemist's.." She knew that some people would balk at the idea, but Tonks saw the beauty in it.

At least while they were there.

It was something to do. Something to keep him busy. And he thought it might do a lot of people a lot of good to be wearing clean clothes. They could even wash their bodies with a cloth and the nice-smelling water. But when she clearly understood what he was doing, Remy was lifting a hand and pressing a naked forefinger to his lips and making a 'shh' noise. He had really been hoping to be left alone, he didn't want people to know he was doing this. Remy LeBeau was not a good guy, and he didn't want to be seen as one.

He lowered his hand a second later. "Oui, gonna nee' uh clot'esline. Bu' don' tell no one I'm doin' 'dis, d'accord? Gonna make two se's, one f' me an' one for 'de ot'ers, leave 'dem in town in 'de mornin'. 'Dis stay 'tween you an' me, non?" Don't go blabbing his secret, Tonks! "Y' wan' yours washe'? Go' uh coa' you can where while 'dey ge' clean an' dry." Well, somewhat dry, anyway. Remy could hang them over the fire to dry out quicker, but if they were damp, it was okay. It was raining, after all.

It had been raining, but Tonksy rarely let weather bother her. She was English, first and foremost! Rain was natural. And secondly, she rather loved the rain. Even when she was trying to run errands. Besides, rain gave her something to work spells upon.

Listening, she tilted her head slightly. "Why wouldn't you wanna tell anyone?" But the idea of washing her clothes. Of having them smell at least clean sounded good. They weren't in terrible condition, considering that she had grabbed an over shirt just two days ago with Remus, but still. Again, it was that thought of normalcy.

"But it'll stay between the two of us, if you like." She was good at keeping secrets.

"Jus' don' wan' anyone knowin', 'das all. Don' nee' no one 'xpec'in' me t' do t'in's like 'dis of'en." He didn't want anyone to think he was nice or helpful, or that he was someone who would protect them.. okay, maybe he would protect them, but he didn't want them knowing that. Then they'd expect it! He wasn't a hero, he left that for Captain Harkness, Yanto Jones, and the Doctors.

"T'anks. Now, you wan' clean clot'es or wha', chere?" He was returning to bending up the metal, little by little, until he had created a wash board, about two feet long. Now, it just needed a wooden frame, which wouldn't be hard at all, just cut up some wood, nail it together with the nails he'd gathered.. and he'd be good to go!

"Lazy about the helping, are we then?" Asked with a wink. But Tonks was coming forward even more and nodding. "An' I'd love it. Do you need any help though?" Before she got into this..cleaning..business. It was eyed strangely, because though she got the concept, the practice was something else altogether.

"Erm." Paused as the witch furrowed her eyebrows. "You're gonna have to teach me how to use it?" She looked hopeful, smiling with the question. "I'm rubbish at cleaning spells..can't imagine doing it the Muggle way, then." Her mother hadn't helped. Or had helped immensely with the cleaning spells when her robes got too dirty. She missed her parents. Oh!

"Do you have any clothes that you don't mind messed up? I could practice on that!" Both real cleaning and her drying spell. The drying spell was easy enough!

"Non, t'ink I can do 'dis no probl'm." He assured her with a flashed grin and a wink. "Can show you how t' use i' 'dough. C'mere." He jerked his head to the side in a graceful arch, shifting so she could see better, as he lifted the rippled metal. "Gonna pu' uh frame on 'dis so y' go' somet'in' t' hol' onto-- an' den y' pu' i' in 'de wa'er." Which he did, submerging half of it in the bucket of good-smelling flowers. "An' y' take y' clot'es.." He picked up the small towel he had. "An' y' dunk." Which he did, gloves and all. "An' scrub." He lifted the towel, scrubbed it on the washing board, "Dunk," Which he repeated, "An' scrub." Once again, repeated. "Y' do 'dat ten or fif'een times, an' you go' somet'in' kin'a clean. Bu' you gotta boil 'de clot'es too, t' kill anyt'in' livin' on 'dem." He nodded towards the boiling pot of water, and the shirt and pair of jeans he had soaking in there-- also notice? Two pairs of boxer briefs, and a few pairs of socks.

"T'ink y' un'ers'an'?" He prompted with a grin.

Tonks moved as to be just behind Remy's shoulder, watching him as he did the very soothing looking motions. "That looks easy-peasy!" She exclaimed, laughing. Why then did it always look so daunting when she really was at home? Weird.

Taking a breath of the flowers, she lifted her eyebrows at the man. "You chose some nice smells, Remy." Very nice. She smiled at the setup and nodded to herself once. Even though Tonks couldn't use it as the area she had wanted to, it was at least still being put to good use.

"So where's this coat of yours? And no peeking." Teased lightly. The wand was coming out of her pocket, placed awkwardly behind her ear for the moment. Her journal would stay in the pocket until she could transfer it to another pocket. No good getting the paper wet.

Thoughtfully, Tonks turned back to the Cajun. "Where did they take you? Yesterday?" It was asked carefully, because she didn't know how much of that video was real and how much was fake. Or how much felt real. But if they, being the 'survivors', could remember something of where they were..maybe then the captives could find where the capturers lived.

Or at least where they did their fucked up playing.

"Merci." He thanked her with a smile, but then was standing up and shrugging off the coat he was wearing-- the Doctor's trench coat, that would hit the ground on her shorter frame, then he was extending it out towards her. "Your coa', mon chere." There was a bit of a twinkle in his eyes as he said it, then he winked. "Won' look.. much." That came out with a laugh, as he turned back to the boiling water and the clothes in it. They were about ready to come out. "Where? Oh, 'dis.. apar'men' like place. Ha' beds an' showers.. tons o' food.. TV, vi'eo games.. clean clot'es, ho' wa'er.. soap." He smiled as he said soap. Oh, he wished he still had soap. The Cajun had been quite happy to pamper himself. He'd taken two showers and two baths, and had slept and eaten and watched movies until he simply passed out on the couch. And he'd woken up in the forest.

That had been the worst part.

"Hear' you guys all t'ough' we was dea', 'dough. We ain', bu' Shannon didn' come back.. dunno wha' happen t' her." He frowned just some as he said it, but the expression was easily replaced by a smile. Silly red-head. "C'mon, ge' nake'."

"Oh! I don't haveta take the coat--" But he was handing it out anyway and so she took it. "Thanks." Tonks had a little modesty, at least! The shirt was peeled off without much thought, but the coat was put on before pants and undergarments came off. And the coat decidedly touched the ground. It was big. And cozy. "You might lose the coat." Just a warning!

"An apartment type thing? Like flats? Where in Merlin's beard would they hide..Was it underground, you think? And did you all see each other?" She often got the undercover interrogation gigs because of her penchant for questions. And the ability to seem, maybe not casual, but natural in asking them.

"Shannon hasn't come back?" She frowned too, both in sadness and thoughtfulness. Why keep only one? Off in her own world for a brief moment, Tonks looked up from the buttons that she was buttoning with an "Mm?" sort of sound. And then a nod.

"It was bad. They showed each of you in a torture scenario. An' then at two-thirty, we saw you all die." Each and every one of them. She had fallen somber about that, because it was a horrible thing to watch. It was still horrible, even if the others were still alive.

"Non, ain' even my coa', stole 'dat from Le Docteur. Migh' kill me in my sleep I don' ge' i' back t' him when we leave." He laughed a little and shook his head. At least he could laugh at the thought of the Doctor again, instead of getting angry.

"Oui, no win'ows.. kin'a chilly. Was un'ergroun', I t'ink. An' oui, 'de ten o' us all saw one ano'ter.. Kin'a. Some 'dem never came outta 'dere rooms." Which seemed strange to him, but.. "An' non, Shannon didn' en' up in 'de fores' wit' us.. jus' nine o' us en' up back here."

Though, as she went on about their deaths, he shook his head some. "Wasn' real, don' t'ink 'bou' i', 'dey jus' playin' wi' your hea', chere. Now c'mon-- toss 'dem clot'es righ' in here." He was pointing down at the boiling pot with a gloved finger. Always gloves.

She looked up, leaving the thoughts of what happened on the telly screens behind if only for a minute. Then laughed and gave him a funny look, because Tonks didn't believe that the Doctor would 'kill' anyone. Righteous anger, yes. But killing? No way. She didn't know him much at all, though. Either way, she was grinning again. "Can't do nothin' if I steal it from you." The witch was kidding, of course, but it amused her.

"I know. It's still--" She paused for a second and shrugged, "You're right. They were fucking with us." Still, it left many things to ponder. Like them being underground. "That's why Sam an' the Doctor wanted to go digging." Ahh, so she saw now. A nod was given and she was chewing on her lip. This happened even while the girl took her clothes and put them in the pot. There was something familiar about that, like a potions brew. "Can I stir it?" She could definitely do that without hassles.

"Why didn't some of them come out? Were they alright, y'think?"

"You try runnin', chere. Be happy t' take i' offa you while you ain' wearin' not'in' beneath." That came with a laugh and he lifted his eyebrows suggestively, before nodding and gesturing to the long stick (it was a broken broom handle) that was sitting in the boiling pot, indicating that she could stir them around as she saw fit.

"Dunno why 'dey didn' come ou'. 'Dey jus' didn', an' none us wen' in t' see 'dem. T'ough' i' bes' t' leave 'dem t' 'dere t'ough's." Because they would have come out, if they'd wanted. Clearly, they didn't want to.

"T'ink 'dey was' fine.. jus' feelin' uh bi' down, maybe." He really didn't know why they hadn't come out, they could have been dead in those rooms and no one would have known. No one had checked. No one wanted to. Especially not the thief doing laundry here. They weren't his problem.

"Cheeky." She grinned and shook her head, moving to take the stick and circling the clothes around in the boiling hot water. First one way for a couple of spins, and then the other. Tonks was watching this, almost soothed by the motions. And it was even better because Snape wasn't around to make her screw it up.

"Remy," She started, looking up at the man with the strange eyes. "They didn't offer you lot anything, did they? Or promise nothing?" The days seemed to run together now, so Tonks couldn't remember if Jenny's outing as the Insider had been while the lost ones were still here. She didn't expect the Cajun to 'fess up really if they did. But had to ask. At least to sate her own brain. "Did you meet any of them?"

"Hm? Offer us somet'in'? Non. Wish 'dey had." He flashed her a grin and moved to sit back down on his bucket, stretching out long, wet legs in front of him, the jean material gripping close onto his muscles. The body of an acrobat, the wet clothes did everything for his figure, and that t-shirt he'd been wearing beneath the coat was clinging to every single curve of his abdomen-- there was more than one wash board around here, Tonksy! Remus might not be of age, but Remy sure was.

"Oui, me' wit' one of 'dem. Plan t' mee' wit' him 'gain, 'fore he retire for 'de nigh'. Jus' 'fore seven." And his watch (matte gunmetal gray, settled loosely on his wrist but impossible to get off, with a flat black face plate and tinted glass set over it) told him he still had over an hour to get there.

"Would you have taken it?" That was more her own real curiosity than anything else. Than any of the other questions had been. The other questions were suited specifically to help Tonks understand what was going on and maybe be of help to the others on trying to find their way out of here. The last one? Sheer nosiness that she tended to have around people who interested her.

And honestly, most everybody interested Tonks.

She turned then, to study him while idly turning the clothes 'washer' and lifted her eyebrows with a sort of a grin. He was not bad looking at all. The witch appreciated such things, even if she didn't necessarily act on them. Not while in her right mind, anyway. Remy better watch out when he moved. Move the right way and the pink-haired woman would be wolf whistling.

"About what? And you got a watch too! Can you take yours off?"

"Non." He lied easily, right to her face and with a smile. Okay, maybe it wasn't a total lie.. because it'd have to be a pretty sweet deal to get him to betray the Doctor's trust. But the way it was looking, the Doctor didn't much trust him anymore, anyway. And Remy was honestly a bit bitter about that, and he might take a chance to get back at the Time Lord.

But it wasn't likely. The Doctor would have to do something really horrible to him to get that sort of reaction, and he just hadn't yet.

"Jus' gonna talk, maybe have lunch.. tea." He flashed her another grin, before shaking his head and lifting his wrist, wiggling the watch around a little. "Non. Maybe, if I broke m' arm off an' pulled, oui. Bu' ain' 'dat despera'e t' have i' off. Kin'a nice knowin' wha' time i' is."

She had no clue of that, but neither expected him to answer truthfully if he would. So while Tonks had no reason to believe that Remy was lying, she also wouldn't be that surprised if he was. A little hurt, maybe. But that was just how she was.

"Oh tea..I'd murder for a cup." Maybe not that extreme, but the English witch sure could use some. She was chuckling though, at the idea of having tea with the enemy. "If you have lunch, spit in their sandwich for me." She was young still, and her bouts of spite came out in mischievous ways. She showed her wrist, with the pink plastic that was..really..quite Tonks-like. She might have even picked it out in another time and another place.

"I'm not a fan, normally. But when you ain't got one in a general sense it is kinda nice!" She was just wary as to why they had gotten such a gift. If one could call it that.

"Why d'you hang round here all on your own?" Out of the blue.

"I do 'dat, chere." He promised about the spit, with a little laugh and a shake of his head, as he watched her stir up their clothing. However, when she flashed her watch at him, he flashed his at her, so she could take a better look. "Been kin'a nice knowin' wha' time i' is, non? Ain' known f' uh week an' uh half.. but 'den again.. I ain' never really pay attention to 'de time." That was admitted with a shrug of his shoulder. He had never exactly had a nine to five job, time was pretty much meaningless to the thief, as he had no real schedule.

"Didn' use' t' be 'lone." Was his simple answer, though it came with a smile. "Where you been stayin'?" He was always curious where people had made their homes.

"Thanks." She grinned at the promise to spit in their sandwiches. Finally, Tonks let the clothes sit by themselves for a moment or two. "And it has. Though I only paid attention when I had to." Work or missions and the like. When Tonks had those things called days off? She hadn't worried a lick about time, and was often five to ten minutes late to just about everything.

Her mother once said that Tonks would be late to her own funeral. Probably true.

"Who was with you? An' I kind of go all over. I sleep at the gymnasium." It had just been where she laid her head most of the time. "Though I think we all oughta pull in together." Sam had pointed out that it didn't matter, numbers. Because the..whatever they wanted to call themselves..just cut through the idea of safety in numbers like a machete through butter. But, like the laundry, Tonks thought people around rather helped. It was why she stayed at Grimmauld a lot of the time.

"De' Doct'r. For uh bi'. He lef' 'de nigh' you came here." Two nights ago, had it been? Three? Gambit had lost count.. it was easy to do when you were in this place.. though the red-head had taken careful pains to start a record of how long he'd been here, inside that barn, drawn on the wall, not far from the door, in the shadows.

"'De gym? Naw, woul'n' wan' everyone t'get'er, chere. Wha' if anot'er ear'tquake happen? Everyone gonna be trappe' in 'de same spo'. She nodded, tilting her head. "I had looked for the Doctor this morning at the Carnival. Missed him though. You blokes are wily things." She smiled wryly then and rocked on her heels while waiting. During this time, Tonks stuck her hand in the pockets of the coat. She loved pockets.

"Not everyone in one place, I reckon. But less spread out than we are now? Exactly so people would know who was where. An' so it's not so lonely." Skinny shoulders lifted up in a shrug. "I wasn't keen on that earthquake." She had never been through one before.

"Maybe some o' us like bein' 'lone?" But there was a big difference between being alone and being lonely. Even the Cajun knew that. But all the same, he was leaning to haul the hot laundry out and dunk them into the cool water, then stick the unfinished washing board in there. Then he sat back down on the bucket and spread his legs around the board.

"Don' t'ink anyone was keen on 'de ear'tquake." He flashed a grin over at her, then shook his head some and looked back down at the clothes and dunked gloved hands in to grab up her shirt and begin scrubbing.

"S'not what I said, though." She winked and moved so that he could help her out with the laundry. Normally Tonks was very self-sufficient. But she knew herself well enough to know that the hot water should probably not end up on the ground. Or on her. Hence the clumsy Auror letting him take care of that part.

When he took it to the washboard though, she was smiling and shaking her head. "I can do that part!" Said with a wave of her hand. Mm, also she needed to ask him something. "So. Seein' as this is your area, I oughta ask you. Do you know of a secluded place round? I'm looking for a target area like." And a place for Remus, but she didn't say that.

"Ahh. Well then, thanks for doin' my laundry!" Another wink, this one followed by a wide old grin. "You gotta pay t'play with this bird." Payment being a relationship. Still, it was fun to play around. Which could be construed as flirting on some level or another.

She nodded then, chewing on the inside of her cheek as she debated about whether it'd be too close to Remy in the barn. If she could make the wand work..Speaking of! "Mm. I wrapped up a wand and want to try it out. But broken wands tend ta be messy." And backfiring. "So I don't want no one around to hurt yanno?"

Remy just winked at her when she asked for payment then laughed and shook his head. He was actually somewhat glad for her presence, strange as that sounded. Still..

"Y'can do 'dat here. Ain' gonna hur' me." He lifted both eyebrows and tilted his head to the side some, making wet hair swing a little, then he went back to focusing on washing those clothes, scrubbing hard before doing the next piece, letting the first one soak there in the nice-smelling water. "Promise."

She laughed and stuck the wand in her pocket..well, the pocket as it wasn't really hers..while thinking about it. "I dunno. I'm a lot more scary than I look. Or maybe I look real scary and am just glamouring everyone with my ability." There had been a point in her life that she thought that for a little bit, that she was really some sort of creature underneath a human disguise. But that thought had been pish-poshed firmly by herself and her family and friends. Now it was just something silly to think about.

Still, it would be nice to have a sparring partner of sorts. "The spells could backfire or work all wonky." She was warning him seriously while watching the Cajun focus on scrubbing.

"'Dat'd be okay, chere. You look really scary, an' I am really scary, an' we bot' jus' foolin' people." He gave her a wink before standing up and hauling the clothes from the water, moving first to hang up that clothes line, then drape the clothes over it to get them on their way to drying. The fire was spread out to help heat the clothes, and keep it going. "Don' worry so much, non? Ain' gonna hur' me." He promised with a short laugh and shake of his wet head.

"Can do i' 'roun' 'de back if you so worrie', d'accord? An' lemme know if you nee' anyt'in', hm?" Remy prompted with a lift of his eyebrows.

"Yanno, we are just foolin' people into thinking we're so scary." Teased lightly. And when she said we, she meant you, Cajun. Because Tonks didn't fool anyone into thinking she was scary. That was part of the beauty of it. No one expects the Spanish Inquisition! Especially not from a clumsy witch.

"Right proper of you, thanks." She grinned in return, nodding. At least that part was out of the way. Still had to find somewhere for Remus, but they had time. Right? Right. With that placed to the side mentally for the moment, she watched Remy move about and sort of followed him around, mostly to keep moving. "So what were you doin' before getting transported to Extreme Town?" Everything was in extremes here. It was like an Auror training gone horribly, terribly awry.

"Moi?" He glanced back at her over his shoulder, after hanging up the clothes, then turned to face her with a smile. "Was killin' people. F' money. 'Das wha' I do. M' uh mercenary." Don't believe him, Tonks. No one else ever did. He was all smiles, he was friendly, he was charming, and he was lazy. Always sprawled around his place like a fucking house cat, expecting to be left alone, then pet, fed, taken care of.. he expected it all. And was always a bit put off when he didn't get it. There was no way he killed people for a living.

He robbed them.

"How 'bou' you, chere?"

She eyeballed him in mock suspicion, eyebrows lifting. "You're a right considerate killer, doin' laundry and creating a washroom of sorts." He was shifty, there was no doubt about that. Sort of reminded her of Mundungus Fletcher. Except cuter. Took more baths. So she was assuming that Remy the Cajun did some side...business..of sorts. Moody would have a field day with this bloke.

Thinking about her mentor and fellow Order member made Tonks smile a bit. She missed them all terribly. But hadn't allowed herself to focus on them. Had to focus on surviving here first. "Oh, me? I chased and caught cheeky buggers like you." Replied with a wry smile and a shrug. "I'm an Auror. Sort of like a police?"

"Only 'cause I gotta clean 'de bloo' offa my clot'es." He assured her with a wink before he poked and prodded some at the clothes as they dried. It wouldn't take much longer, he'd wrung them out well enough and the fire was doing a pretty good job of drying them out. Absently, one hand came up to finger the bottom of his other shirt, and his fingers gripped on. His face took on a curious look as he wondered if charging it would dry it. It seemed like it would, shifting the molecules like that often did some strange things to different items. It might very well force all that water out.

And this woman had seen him do it once, but... His hand fell away.

"You uh cop? Five-oh? Kin'a ho', you know. Women in uniform." That came with a wide smile over at her.

She caught the curious look, knowing it well because it was often a look that Tonks herself got, and lifted her eyebrows in return curiosity. "What?" Of course, though she knew the look, the witch had no idea what it was for. Hence asking.

Then Remy was flirting again and she laughed, sort of rolling her eyes. Men. "My uniform is a set of dress robes, then. We magical lot have different ideas of wardrobes." Though.."Though I'm gonna haveta include this style coat in when I get home!" Added with a laugh and twirl in the coat that she was wearing. It was comfortable. Homey, even.

Taking a step closer, to see how her clothes were doing, Tonks tilted her head slightly. "An' if you want help, getting this stuff set up, I volunteer." Motioned with her hand in the coat pocket, "That way, if I get caught, I'll be the thoughtful one and your secret is safe." Added with a wink.

His eyes lit up some when she mentioned helping and he turned around to stare at her, then broke into a wide smile. "Oui! 'Das brillian'. Gonna give you 'dis stuff soon as 'm ready, d'accord? An' you can give i' to 'dem. 'Dey gonna love i' comin' from you. Goo' idea, chere." That was a perfect idea! Why hadn't he thought of that? This woman was brilliant, really.

"Gonna le' you know when m' all rea'y, an' you can take 'de stuff, non?" He was reaching out then, tugging at the clothes and testing to see how dry they were. Just slightly damp, but it was good. They would just get wet in the rain again. And he was tugging her clothes down and extending them out with a smile.

"I had been joking!" She laughed, staring at him like he was the oddest person she had met. Which he wasn't, really. It just interested the lifelong people-watcher that he was so intent on not being recognised as the mastermind behind this little plan. All the same, she nodded in agreement. "When you're ready, I'll come an' take it."

She took the clothes with a grateful little smile and lifted them up to her nose, smelling just how well the little potpourri soap worked. "Smells good." The jeans were slipped on underneath the very long coat, but she was motioning for him to turn around by turning her finger in a circular motion. Once Remy obliged, Tonks slipped out of the coat and back into her normal clothes. A little damp, but it wasn't too bad at all.

"Okay, you can look again." The coat was held carefully and extended out. "Thanks, Remy. I'll be coming round later too t'practice yeah?" With her wand.

He did turn when she indicated, rocking a little on his toes. He sniffed some (being out in the cold and rain hadn't done his body any good) as he waited, but then spun back around when she said he could look, and the Cajun smiled brightly. "How 'dey smell, chere? Look clean. Bien." Gloved hands clapped together and he stepped forward with a nod. "Gonna sen' you uh note when 'm rea'y, d'accord?" asked with a lift of his eyebrows and a smile.

He really was desperate not to seem like a good guy, wasn't it? Were you putting two and two together, Tonks? Only bad guys didn't want to be lumped in with good guys. But he was so nice.

Bad guys didn't give a shit. Grey area guys sat on the fence, and waffled depending on how they felt. She smiled wryly, watching him for a long minute, then leaned in and kissed his cheek. "Thanks. An' you send that note when you need." Said with another nod.

Whether Remy Lebeau was a good guy or bad guy, Tonks wasn't sure. But too, she wasn't sure if he was always so sure. Either way, she had to get going. Still had things on her to-do list. "I'll see you round, Remy." With a wink, Tonks grinned and swooped up her journal and wand, then was off like a little pink lightning bolt on the ground.
