I've been told there's an Outlander owned shop around here that might be looking for mechanics. Boyd's? If you're the owners, you hiring?

And to whoever has that '73 Camaro in the DOA parking lot - nice.

That's good enough for me. Do you want to swing by tomorrow afternoon? I'm at the market during the day, but I'm at the garage until close and maybe later

Boyd was the original owner, but I'm Adam. I sort of inherited it when it showed up in Vallo.

A farmers market? Either way, I'll be there.

Good to meet you, Adam, I'm Letty.

Yeah, every Tuesday and Thursday. If you're not completely turned off by the waypoints yet, there's one that will take you to the Barns. Mostly dairy and knitwear, but we hold events.

They're convenient, but I definitely prefer to drive.

You and my boyfriend both. The forest around the Barns changes too much to have a direct shot on market days, we'd have too many people lost in their cars. But if you need a place to go, there's a road that runs along the coast by the quay.

I plan to fully explore the roads as soon as I can. Sounds like the forest makes for an interesting drive.

I'd say enter at your own risk, but I understand the need to be a bit of a thrill-seeker.

Hey Adam, I'm Dom. You got two positions open?

We do. Hours are flexible, as long as we have coverage and no one is there alone. Don't let Toph deter you. She knows there's a junkyard out back where you have free reign to parts.

That's good. Me and the wife, we have a kid at home so we'll probably be working opposite schedules if possible.

I'm not going to let work get in the way of childcare. Whatever you need. I'm there every most days, so if something comes up, we'll make it work. I know your credentials are

Anything you consider your specialty? It's easier to assign jobs that come into mechanics if I know.

Appreciate that.

I got my preferences for American brands, but I know enough about all kinds of cars to get by. If you got anything you have in shop that you want to work on as a test, just let me know. I'm better at showing than telling.

There's a '69 Corvette someone drove in this morning before the whole engine seized. Looked like it got into a fight with a stampede. It's all yours to show off your skills.

I just fixed a Mustang that was filled with monster goo and needed some bodywork. I'd like to say that's an exception to the rule, but you'd be surprised by how much weird shit stuff ends up on or inside cars here.

Sounds good to me. When do you want to make this happen?

Not really surprised. Came from another world sort of like this. Less magical, still full of bullshit that ruins cars.

I told Letty she could come in Tuesday afternoon, but if you're working on opposite schedules, I'll be there Wednesday late morning. I have a final to take first thing but I'm available after that.

You did? What was the worst thing to ruin a car?

Late Wednesday morning works for me.

Fat little cupid tore up the inside of one of my cars when I trapped it in it. Probably not the worst, but the most annoying.

While you were in it? And here I thought the goo was the worst thing I had to deal with. There were the rabid bunnies, but that didn't result in direct car damage.

I'd say you're safe from a repeat here since I don't recall any cupids hounding cars, but that's just asking for them to coincidentally show up.

Nah, the little shit was flying around my shop, fucking things up. Threw him in there to keep him contained. Hopefully never have to deal with that ever again.

I haven't been around here long enough to let you know what I think, so your best judgement is all you got.
