With the invitations, I was thinking maybe some of us could volunteer to go first? Just to make sure everything is on the up and up? I can offer to go, but the magic they use may or may not work on me.

Anyone else want to join me so we can report back? Unless anyone else knows more about this kingdom and can vouch for them?

More than happy to come with - just in case this isn't entirely on the level, having someone who can pick the team back up after it goes south feels smart.

If they wanted to lure people to their entrapment or death, usually it's far less work to take smaller groups instead of alerting everyone.

One would think, but it doesn't hurt to be at least a little skeptical. "First ask how this twist is designed to bite you in the rear" might as well be the city motto at this point.

I'll know more when I meet them, it could be wildly different from home than what I'm used to. ... But the one I'm used to loves their week long festivals as well. And shiny things.
