I think that the only thing about this place that I don't like, other than missing my mom, is having to rethink all my plans for the future. I was going to go to college for architecture and maybe start my own firm. I'm still going to go to college. I just don't know what I'll do after. I had such a firm plan in place that this is still weird.

I miss my mom. I know that's sad and pathetic but she was so good at helping me figure out a plan.

I don't think there is anything sad about missing your mother at all. I'm sorry you're separated from her.

Thank you. I appreciate that.

I've never been away from her for too long. This is really strange.

She sounds like a really lovely woman, if you miss her so much and she would help you plan and be there for you like that.

Only a real shitbag of a human being would call you pathetic for missing your mom. Anyway, buildings get built here just like anywhere else. Why does your plan have to change?

I kind of have a knack for attracting shitbag humans.I guess it doesn't really have to change but...this is going to sound dumb...what if it's different here? Because of the magic? I mean, I'm nothing special.

Your little circle of assholes can be annoying but they're not shitbags.

I bet most of the buildings here were built with tools and regular ass people. Only one way to find out tho.

I want to agree with everyone here and say that there's nothing wrong with missing your mother.

There's nothing that says you can't still go to college, study architecture, and open your own firm here. There a little more ambient magic to this place but I don't think it actually changes anything.

I appreciate that. In fairness no one has tried to make me feel bad about it here. I just get a little worried about things like that.

I definitely still want to go to college. I'm just worried about the magic. There isn't really much special about me.

If this place has taught me anything, it's that shit is constantly changing and we have to be open to it at least a little bit. Go for architecture and see what happens. You're way too fucking smart, and whatever you end up doing will benefit that industry somehow.

I'm sorry about your mom. You want a group cuddle, dude? I feel like we're all overdue for that one.

I think I'm going to. Gladio said something about setting up meetings with the college down below. I think I'm going to do that. I've wanted to be an architect since I was a little kid. I'm not sure if I'm ready to give up on it.

Thank you. I wouldn't say no to that.

You know if anyone's giving you crap about missing your mom we'll be more than happy to let Richie threaten them with a bat. She was one of the few good adults in Derry.

Ben:

I'm a little worried about my future plans too but, I think, you'll be okay. I'm sure there's someone we could talk to that could give you more information about becoming an architect. If there's something different about the program the college might even mention it.

I know. It's like having my own squad of bodyguards. No one has done it yet. I just...I get little insecure waiting for bullies.

I think you'll be okay too, Bill. You're incredibly smart and you'll succeed at whatever it is. We could go talk to the college for you too, if you want?

I'm hoping they will have information.

I'm sure you could still work towards that, Ben. If you're worried about it working differently here we can maybe set up a meeting with a college that offers the courses to see what it's like? Or I'm sure there's a firm in the city that wouldn't mind answering a few questions.

I'd really like to talk to the people at the college, I think. It might be just me being...well me...but I think it would be good to talk to them. Just so I stop worrying. I've never wanted to do anything else. Except for a weird part of my early childhood where I wanted to be a ballerina.
