My thanks to all those who participated in the creation of the Outlanders and Animals Calendar, especially those of you who volunteered at the last minute to finish the job for our friends who have gone on to other worlds. Your efforts made a process that could have been stressful smooth as a bolt of silk, and I cannot voice my appreciation enough.

Now the time has come to place orders. Please, Outlanders of Vallo, support the well-being of animals both wild and domestic and the artistic efforts of your compatriots by pre-ordering on the Art of Expression website. The previews I have seen of the work of our photographers are truly beautiful, and accordingly to my brother-in-law, "So hot! And so cute! Some are both!" I believe you will not be disappointed if you take one or more of these calendars into your home.

[Filtered to Alastair, Prompto, and Prue]
All of your work is beautiful, and I consider myself privileged to be able to work on this project with you all. Because it has so exceeded my expectations, I thought that perhaps in addition to the calendars, we might make some of the photographs available as limited edition prints. Would you be interested in doing so, and if so, do you have any particular shots you think would make fine individual pieces of art?

I wish only to say that I am sorry for your loss, and that if your work schedule requires any accommodations accordingly you need only tell me. I hope that you and your family are all well in this difficult time.

I thought you might prefer less company yesterday, rather than more, but I wish to express my sorrow for the departure of Eleanor and Marina. If there is anything I can do to support you, please say so.

I had a great time. Thank you for the opportunity. I'm sure I could come up with a batch of artistic shots for you to look through in a few days.

Thank you, Prue, and I am so glad to hear you enjoyed the experience. I found that I enjoyed it as well, much to my surprise.

I'm happy to hear that. You've been an amazing organizer, and I'd be happy to sign up again next year or the year after - whenever the time comes.

I never say no to your company but the sentiment is appreciated, my friend. I miss them both already, Marina especially. She was something of a soulmate, in a way.

Being separated from a true friend is as difficult as separation from family or a lover, I think. They leave the same sort of massive empty space in our lives, though the nature of that space may be different from one to another.

It is tradition in my world that when people leave us for their next life, we place a memorial tablet at a shrine. The next lives that people go to from here are different from the ordinary wheel of reincarnation, but I have thought that I would like to have a place to remember them nonetheless. Does that seem more sensible or macabre?

Well, you are talking to a necromancer so my threshold of what is macabre is a lot different - but no, I don't believe that's macabre at all. It sounds quite nice, actually. A way to honor those who cared for us and who we cared for too, while they were here.

That is what I thought, as well, but my culture takes a somewhat different view of life and death than many here do. I think, pending Laurence and Temeraire's agreement, I will go forward with it on the covert grounds. I like having places and times dedicated to remembrance. It makes it more manageable.

Remembrance is a beautiful thing. Vallo may take those people away, physically, but it cannot touch the memories. I would be happy to be a part of putting together a place, if you will allow it?

I would be pleased if you would. Such a place is meant to be for a family or a community, not for one person only; it is fitting that it would also be constructed by more than one.

I'd very much adore it and I think we will construct something lovely. I promise not to add too many rainbows.

Thanks, Boss! I took notes on which photos my subjects preferred and I'll cross those with the ones that I think would fit your request. I can get them to you by the end of the week.

I appreciate that and the time off you gave me after it happened. We're dealing with it as a unit, but it shouldn't interfere with work anymore. I'll let you know asap if that changes though.

Thank you, Prompto.

No thanks is necessary, and my point was that if it does interfere with work, that is perfectly acceptable. I believe that family must always come before art or business.

I agree, but I don't like leaving people down a guy if I can juggle it. It's all about the balance. Having this normalcy helps me not to think about how awful Vallo can be sometimes.

You should be proud of your work.

I dislike the last few days.

You are too kind, brother.

And I have disliked these days, as well. So many friends gone out of our reach, and I will miss every one of them. I am considering establishing a shrine here at the covert, not necessarily for the dead, but for those who have gone on from Vallo to other lives. I know it could seem morbid, but that is not how I am thinking of it.

Truthful.

I think a shrine would give those left behind a sense of permanence, since even landmarks and homes can disappear. I— did something similar for myself after Wei Wuxian’s death, hidden by the springs.

Regardless, I am pleased with the work so far, and I think it will raise significant money for the animal charities. I will forever be grateful to Wei Wuxian for his encouragement in the matter, however ridiculous a form he may have given it in.

Such memorials are more for the living than for the dead, after all. Thus it seems it matters little whether the people who have left us are actually dead or merely moved on. We miss them all the same, so why not light our incense and pour a cup of wine for them?

He has always been gentle with all animals. Even those he dislikes. He possesses a soft heart.

I would find immeasurable comfort in it.
