Rabbits don't lay eggs, and they aren't large enough to sit upon.

Explain your holiday.

I asked Will about this, and he was able to explain the religious aspects of the holiday for Christians, but not how the rabbits got involved. (He was very clear that Jesus Christ was not a rabbit.)

From what Sabrina and Jake indicated, it is a casserole of holidays.

I am reading more about the celebration now, and I have learned that a rabbit delivering eggs is not universal. Other bringers of eggs I found include a fox, a cuckoo, and flying bells.

Bells? That fly?

Is it on a sword?

No, the bells fly on their own. They come from churches (Christian temples) and leave eggs for children.

Flying on their own. That makes no sense.

Perhaps they are possessed by some spirit of Easter? I cannot be sure. Most of what I am reading assumes more of a knowledge base than I have.

I would hope there would not be a spirit possessing common folk or instruments, but I understand that this motif is common in many of these holidays.

All these traditions seem to come from worlds that do not actually have magic of any kind. They speak to me of a longing for the spiritual energy they are cut off from, and now I am finding their tales of bunnies and bells that they know do not exist in their lands rather depressing.

I have rabbits for you to hold if it might help. They are ordinary-sized and are not possessed by evil spirits.

Yes, I think I will come hold one of the good, non-threatening rabbits that are not a trial of valor for children. They excel at cheering me up.
