Rabbits don't lay eggs, and they aren't large enough to sit upon.

Explain your holiday.

Well, rabbits do that.

It's a strange blend. Does it confuse people even within the culture?

They do. It was just an odd choice for that particular religion to make given their stance that sex is a necessary sin. That is a lot of rabbit sex.

Not once capitalism got involved. People mostly stopped thinking about it because it became normal. Usually the ones that would question it are children and imagine having to explain what is just a theory but the one that makes the most sense.

So they despise rabbits and yet herald them for their abilities.

Everyone who says "capitalism" always sounds disappointed.

There is a lot of hypocrisy. I ain't picking on one religion in particular as all seem to have their fair share which is common where people are involved. Probably trying not to mention that part of rabbit populating so they wouldn't have to approach the idea on how to sell rabbits indulgences for the forgiveness of their sin.

Capitalism has its uses but its also abused regularly by the rich and powerful. In this particular situation they're elevating the importance of the rabbit to the holiday in order to increase their sales of toys and candy regardless of it having any actual importance to the holiday itself.

It is strange to see how holidays migrate here, is it not? But it's good to have familiarity.

It is strange because some do have the distinction of seeming odd in this place but people carry their traditions with them as well so with all of us just showing up it does make some sense. We bring it with us and we share with others, they change and adapt. Hell, we might even get a new holiday or two out of it. That'll be interesting to see down the line.
