New years resolutions... Do you make them? Do you not? Do you keep them or forget about them a few months into the year?

I don't generally make them. Also, taking suggestions for movies to watch during late night insomnia bouts.

I don't usually make them. They never seemed very important back home. Or at least not in the society I grew up in.

There's plenty of Bollywood if you like it? I don't watch too many of the ones my face is in because it's sort of uncomfortable watching yourself. But I don't know very many Muggle films either.

I don't know many who make them.

Yes, I'm open to Bollywood. I'm not sure I've ever seen one. But I'd been the one watching and I wouldn't mind. ;) So recommend away.

I am mostly focused on becoming better at more complex potions, but that is a general life goal.

I liked What's Your Rashee. It was fun. Khoobsurat, too. The actress that looks like me is Alia Bhatt. I don't know how her movies are.

Good luck with that. I think a lot of people do general goals through the year. We make resolutions in January then mostly forget about them.

Thank you. I'll check those out.

Thank you. It is a lot of work most of the time. Especially when there's not always supplies you need.

If you ever want it, I have potions to help with sleep as well. If you go too long without. Dan at the clinic also is fairly skilled, I believe, with assisting people with sleep as well.

You're welcome. I imagine so. I'm a magician and some spells can be complicated, so I imagine making complex potions is more so. I think it's fascinating.

Thank you. I may take you up on that. I'm Eliot, by the way. Sometimes it just hits me.

Ah. Not like the Muggle street performers? If you ever wish to learn, I have taught a few people. It is not a formal class so much, but whatever you have interest in is fine.

Of course. A pleasure to meet you. I'm Rasalas Black. Insomnia is like that from what I'm told.

What is a Muggle street performer? Really? I'd like that. As long as you don't mind a complete novice.

Nice to meet you Rasalas. Interesting name. Be glad you've never experienced it. I was once awake for over two days. It was crazy.

That's what most magicians are. At least from my knowledge previously. It is not a problem. I have taught plenty of people with little knowledge. Harry once learned from me when he didn't know even very many spells.

It is the name of the star muleonis. In the Leo constellation. Most know me as Regulus instead since the majority of people from my world are the opposite gender from what I'm aware of. At least the ones I know. Also a star in Leo, but Alpha Leonis. Heart of the lion. Ah. That sounds definitely unfortunate. Well, hopefully you can avoid it again.

I'm sorry, I still don't know what a Muggle street performer is. Oh wait, do you mean like someone who does magic tricks on the street? Like a street performer. I'm not that. I'm a real magician. Maybe I can show you some magic sometime? Or talk to you about the type of magic I do or that's found where I'm from.

How lovely. I love the stars, the moon, the sky, the heavens, whatever you choose to call it. Do you mean most are males where you come from?

I hope to. Now it's usually just awake to late morning until crashing.

Okay. I have learned some different magics, but nothing very different from my own. I would like to learn more about what yours is like.

Our family tends toward stars and constellations. Except for Father and Narcissus and a few others. Well, my brother Sirius was my sister back home. My cousins are all men, but for Sirius, they are all women. It can be slightly unsettling.

That's not too terrible, then.

Great. Maybe I can show you some new "tricks". Though I don't consider real magic tricks. Though some may see it that way.

Where are you from? Not earth I assume. You mean he became male when he came here? I'm confused. As I should be since I'm not from your world, but I'm trying to understand.

I like the night so it's not too bad. It's just frustrating when I'm tired, but can't sleep.

I suppose it depends on the spell.

Oh. I am from England. It is just we...well, my family are purebloods. So I don't always understand Muggle...or non-magical things even having lived in Texas for a bit. No. I believe it is a matter of alternate universes.

I understand. I usually fly when I cannot sleep. On my broom.

That is true.

Are you going to explain to me what a muggle is? Oh, is it someone who isn't magical, right? I think it's definitely a case of alternate universes. I got it now. Maybe. lol

Really? That must be exhilarating. I don't think you're a witch...so magic broom?

Yes. Most people know of the Harry Potter books. I’ve gotten used to it, I suppose.

I am a witch. But yes. Magic broom. I believe the Quidditch Pitch has brooms if you ever wish to try them.

I'm the odd man out I guess. I know of them, but I've never read the books or seen the movies.

Oh. Sorry for assuming you weren't. I can buy flying broom? Or is that some sort of place where you can try one?

It's a relief for the most part. It's uncomfortable having everyone know your story before you can even tell it. Or decide if you wish to.

It's quite alright. Everyone that has shown up from my world is either a witch or a wizard. When I say world, I mean it in a mostly vague sense. It's how they explained things in Tumbleweed. Everyone's world is just the fictional (to the people of this place) story we've come from. The Quidditch Pitch is a place from my home. It has brooms you can use, but to my knowledge, we have not mastered building one. Perhaps it is something to attempt in the future.

I get that. Never quite thought about it that way though. I imagine that's how celebrities feel in a way. Or anyone in the public eye.

It is fictional to others, but not "us". Kind of like Fillory. I used to think it was fictional, but it's definitely not and I'm glad it's not. I totally want to try a flying broom. Is the Quidditch Pitch in the city? The forest?

People knew who I was at home because our family was fairly big, but that was mostly amongst those that had grown up in the wizarding world and not the non-magical people. But they didn't know everything.

I'm not familiar with Fillory, but I will take your word for it. There's a waypoint at the edge of the forest that takes you directly there.

No one knows everything. Which is a good thing in my opinion. We need some things of our own.

It's a beautiful magical land. Thanks. I want to check it out sometime soon.

Yes. Not even I have complete knowledge of what occurred. There are minutes I have never had to live I prefer being able to introduce things as I like and leave some things a mystery.

It is. I will take you sometime. We can take it up slowly instead of all at once so you can get used to it. With time I can even show you a few tricks.

Yes, exactly! Life should have some mystery. Keeps it interesting.

Sounds good. Promise you won't laugh if I fall off or am plain terrible at it.
