His guilty expression slipped into a smile. Unsure why he was feeling mischievous, maybe it was the holiday, Wells dropped his gaze to look at her.

"My name is Wells," he responded, standing straight. Instead of pulling out his pocket watch he lifted his wrist, causing his sleeve to drop down his arm an reveal another watch. Poe teased him for his many devices (who was a metal-charmer to say such things?), but they were all for various uses. There could one day be a way to combine them all, but...Wells couldn't say he did not enjoy his collection.

"You can dissect my words anyway you wish," he said. Wells pulled his sleeve down and bowed his head at her. It was time for him to go, "Take your time, even. But no more than five minutes, as I will have left the porch on the north-west side of the barn by then."

He sent her a wink, deciding that either way his night was to be a bright one, and turned to make it way out of the workshop.

Her chest, her neck, and her cheeks all flushed from embarrassment and confusion. She still did not... understand. Wells? Wells... who? Was that his first name or his last name? Why was he so interested in her? Did he know who she was? Why did he have more than one watch? Why was he... why did he think she wanted something better than new year's fireworks? What was that supposed to mean? Why did he want her to leave this workshop? Or did he simply want to leave with her?

Was he one of Zayn's friends? Her brother knew everyone, and that sometimes led to others knowing of her before she did. But usually, that fact was made aware...

Startled, for she was still thinking over what he said ('dissect my words'?), Mina twisted in her seat. Wells had left, but there was seemingly still one other occupant in the room. Her shoulders dropped in relief when Garrett appeared, his face as sullen as ever.

"He winked," she murmured, her hands moving to pick nervously through her own hair. When Garrett began to speak of the precautions that went with accompanying her new acquaintance, Mina shook her head.

"No, no. I'm not..." Mina said with a shake of her head. She glanced at the remembralls beside her. "I should go find my brother."
