I forgot just how many cars there are in California, and how little people walk or rely on themselves to do just about anything. Every time something goes wrong the first thing people do is blame technology. Or someone else. It's never their own fault, as if responsibly died out with the Do Do Bird. And don't even get me started on the way people treat animals in first world countries.

It all makes me really miss the jungle.

But then I remember my brother's house has indoor plumbing and suddenly I'm right back on the bandwagon. Also, ordering a pint of ice cream for delivery? Totally worth commercialism.

I wish I could say I don't rely on my computer or blackberry or car but I really do. I do think despite having all of this everybody should take more responsibility. Yes sometimes technology goes wrong but more time should be spent fixing it and learning from it than pointing fingers and giving up.

Did you find employment my dear? I believe you were looking for a job a while ago?

I have a small gig at the zoo, but no one is hiring. Seems I arrived in the OC at a bad time, but I will keep looking. Something is bound to come up eventually.

Well you are welcome to pop by the library, it's not the most exciting work but if we did find you were suitable I'm sure we could sort hours out around your zoo job.

I don't know but it was delicious.

And I got your favorite too. Because I'm an amazing big sister.

We do tend, as a whole, toward the hypocritical about these things. While he's drinking his organic fair trade coffee, one of my friends can also be found bitching about how hard it is to be stuck in traffic, etc, etc. As much as he purports to be part of one cause, he'll usually be doing something, totally unawares, that contradicts it when it comes to another. It's insane and invites us to consider our privilege quite a bit. Not that I don't do this too, but broken down it's quite ridiculous.
