Days like today, National Siblings Day, where everyone is posting pictures of their siblings on social media really make me miss Sarah and Cosima. It also makes me miss Alison, Helena and Adele, which is weird since none of them have been real people. Although, the whole thing with Adele does make me wonder if I really have a bio sister out there somewhere. Does anyone know how one would go about looking for long lost family members?

It occurred to me recently, while going over my planner for the rest of the year that this summer will be mine and Eliot's four year anniversary. I can't even bloody believe it. I've never been in a relationship this long before. I honestly can't believe it's been almost four years.

I tracked my brother down through birth records. But I also knew he existed, and where to start that search, which helped a lot.

I knew where he was born, and checked the local newspapers in the area around the time that he was born. It was a massive undertaking, but I found him, so it was worth it.

I started off by going to my biomom to ask her who my dad was. From there I had to go to a lawyer to prove that I was his.

In my dreams, we share a father, but I never knew him and both there and here I was adopted by my foster mum when I was pretty young.

If you decide you want to look I'd suggest asking your foster mom if she knows. Maybe the adoption agency told her a name?

Yeah. I'm fairly certain it wasn't quite as covert as in my dreams, but I feel like she would have told Sarah and I anything she did know about our birth families a long time ago.

Unless she didn't think you wanted to know. I mean I know my family didn't tell me what little they knew about my mom until I asked. Then they helped me find her and helped me find my dad after one of my brothers took me to talk to her.
