How the hell is it almost September? That doesn't even seem possible. The summer always goes by so fast, but I guess it could be worse and we could live some place where we'd be complaining about the oncoming months of cold and darkness. And I will admit, I'm looking forward to Starbucks holiday lattes in December, so I guess summer has to end in order for that to happen.

That's something I don't miss - cold weather. Back home it would be getting cooler and the by mid September, we'd be feeling it. By Halloween, we'd have four layers under costumes. I love the more temperate weather here. I do love holiday flavors too. Peppermint mocha is my jam.

I was born and raised in California, so I've never known any other winters.

The coffee shop by me is already pumping out the pumpkin spice, which I'm kind of two minds about. On the one hand, I actually like pumpkin. On the other, it seems to be pushing the year to go by faster than it already is.
