So, that old ass TV I got a few weeks ago? Yeah, well this morning there was a weird ring sitting on top of it, like it's always been there.

Let me see if I can summarize it.

Our god is Eru Iluvatar. He created the other gods, called the Valar, and together they sang the universe into existence. One of the Valar sang discord, which is why there are bad and evil things in the world.

Some of the Valar came to the earth with hosts of Maiar (angels and demi-gods) to craft the land and the sea. There was no sun, these trees were planted and they gave off a beautiful light.

Feanor captured their light in his gems, and the Valar blessed them. The Valar that sang discord was Morgoth. He destroyed the trees and stole the gems. Eventually, the Valar took the last seed and fruit from the trees, and created the sun and the moon.

My mother told me some of these stories, she was a maiar.

My own story was immortalized in song and my descendants played important roles in history. I suppose being able to read books about oneself is helpful.
