	Oh! The Tiggywinkles Wildlife Hospital in Buckinghamshire has had a hedgeless hedgehog for a few years now. His name is Spude, appropriately enough. He gets skin massages with lotion every day, though they're not sure what causes this oddity. He grows a spine now and again, but it's always ingrown, poor thing. (Reply to this) (Thread)

And his name is Spud, not Spude, silly me.

As an animal care specialist, we sometimes come across very strange cases and cannot for the life of us figure out their origin! We just do what we can to keep the animal healthy and comfortable. Usually this hairlessness doesn't bother them, we just need to take extra care that they don't catch a chill.
