"Labor Day" should technically be "Labor Free Day", right? Seems to be a misnomer to me. Of course, I've never been one to labor all that intensively. I only take note of it because it amuses me.

Little amuses me.

I'll take what I can get where I can get it.

Should but isn't. Why doesn't much amuse you

Obviously. Hence my confusion.

I'm a hard man to amuse.

I was mostly just agreeing.

Way to give an easy answer.

I know how you like to sleep at night and how you smell when you go walking.

And that while incredibly creepy doesn't mean much. How I sleep or smell says very little about me.

I believe the term is to celebrate workers, who spend most of the year laboring.

Seems stupid. Celebrating working when people just got to go back to it? Doesn't mean anything. Just a way to keep the people who don't have to labor from feeling guilty about making people labor.

To be fair, the people that first proposed a labor day were laborers.

They wanted a day off work. Fair enough. My issue is why did they settle for a day?

I think it was more to celebrate workers. This was also the same era that people died for to give us weekends and the forty hour work week.

When I'm working 40 for someone else? I'll be grateful to them for it. Maybe.

When you're self-employed, the hours you put in are a little different. There are days I'm doing 15 hours of work. But then, I enjoy my job.

You should always enjoy what you do. Me? I enjoy everything I do. You could say I work all the time. For my own amusement.

Oh. I hadn't thought of it that way.

Mostly because the museum is open anyway. Though with shorter hours, I think. I don't do tours, I don't always pay attention to our hours.

Never been one for museums. Remind me of mausoleums. What do you work at in a museum? Dusting?

Seems a strange thing to collect. Can't be much money in it. Is it more the challenge?

I think that depends on the sort of museum you work for.

It's the curiosity. Seeing the lives of these paintings. Whose hands they've passed through.

Most everything I've handled have been donations from private collectors. Many European works passed into hands due to German ingenuity during World War II.

We thank them for their generosity, of course.

Nazis. Yeah. They're known for their generosity alright. I'd classify that as interesting.

Anyone ever come through claiming one of your exhibits was stolen from their family?
