I have to admit I never thought I would be the sort to open up an account on this thing, but I've been hearing tales of a dream epidemic around the lab so I thought I would check it out. My name is Dr. Tam, I head up the neurology department at UC Irvine.

Can you really call dreaming an epidemic? I mean, they're just in our heads, right?

It depends upon how you look at it. Several people have been claiming they're having the same dreams from different perspectives. Nothing like that has ever been recorded that I'm aware of.

Oh, wow. Guess something like that ain't normal. Must be exciting for a doctor to be able to study something new!

I haven't exactly decided to study it myself, but maybe in the future...

I don't know much at all about science, but wouldn't it be shiny to be part of the discovering? Like all that talk about that Higgs thing everyone's excited about!

I have to admit it would be very exciting to make a new discovery, you're right.

It's real nice to meet you too, Simon. Well, internet-meet.

How long have you been here in Orange County?

Oh, a while. A couple of years anyway. I don't get out much though so it still feels new. How about you?

I've only been here about a month. It's the longest I've stuck around anywhere in two years, though!

I dunno about that. I just like traveling, is all. Meeting new people, hearing their stories... it's exciting.
