Hello, I'm Faramir. My older brother, Boromir, has already posted an introduction, earlier today. I've been on the network for only a little while, but I've been quiet. I prefer books and reading, rather than the public limelight. I'll leave that to Boromir, instead. I can assure you all that he's a person of good character and that he means well, and that he will make for an excellent representative should he be elected.

As for myself, I'm currently a community college teacher (philosophy, poetry) at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa. I teach three days a week and volunteer for my brother's campaign, as well as various other causes.

I'm afraid I'm not as interesting as my brother is. I simply thought it would be rude to continue lurking on the network and never post anything.

	Oh yes. A lot of cautionary or morality tales, such as Hansel and Gretel. Some of them are brutal, considering they're children stories. I don't think they publish some of them in books anymore, like Bluebeard in particular, considering what the story is about. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	I agree, it might be a part of nature and one has to accept that, in part, but neither does such violence need to be glorified. I believe that's why tales such as that are left out of some publications. I'm not a publisher, though. I don't make those decisions. It does give reason to pause and think about the implications. 	There's no reason why we couldn't. I think we could find the original versions, compile, and trade them. Even if they aren't considered to be politically correct, it's also good to preserve such stories in their original formats. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)
