Hypothetically speaking, how much is too much of an age difference, for a relationship? I've been having some pangs of morality lately, and I wanted the opinion of you fine folk to put my troubled mind at rest.

Speaking as someone in his mid-forties dating someone in his early-twenties, I think one of the big killers of relationships that have age gaps is a lack of things in common. If you're of a similar mindset and have things in common, the gap ceases to matter.

As long as the person is of the age of consent.

We both enjoy art and music. She's a painter, I'm a composer. We make art for each other, it's quite -- domestic, really. I've never met anyone whose mindset is as close to mine as her is.

And she is, I wouldn't dream of it otherwise.

Perhaps I'm not quite as terrible as I thought I was, then.

I'd say there's far too little love in the world for something like your ages to matter! As long as your partner is of legal age and consents to be with you, of course. What's the saying? Age is but a number!

So long as he/she is legal, then age is just a number. As long as it doesn't bother either of you, then it doesn't matter. Focus on the important thing: each other.
