I'm not sure how I feel or what's happening right now, but I rather think that I like it.

(Yes, I'm going to be cryptic and let you all take guesses.)

ETA: It's not the music.

I'm a professor, I completely understand.

I give private singing lessons. Some of them try but...

What do you teach?

I couldn't imagine, actually.

I teach international studies. It's a little less abbrasive than what you do.

Let's be honest, you're probably less abrasive than I am, in general.

Probably. I've never been abrasive in my life, I think.

We could give each other lessons. I'll learn how to be genteel and you learn how to be abrasive.

Maybe some day you'll give out a detention!

Hah. I'm not sure it's in my nature.

Anyway, it's not like you can really give detentions in university.

Can't you? That's terrible. You ought to be able to give detentions no matter what level, kindergarten through graduate school.

At best, I can send them to the head of the faculty.

For the most part, though, the classes I teach are pretty focused and the students there are usually looking for graduate credits. If I teach lecture classes, then there's one hundred-something of them and it's their choice whether they do the work or not. They're adults, they can reap what they sow. :)
