To say it had been a very long and strange week would be an understatement. First the whole thing with Anakin, something Clara didn't really want to talk about though she had warned Ahsoka and John was pulling information from her. Because of that, she'd been unable to actually talk for most of the week without pain. So lots of tea and honey. Then there was the whole... Orange County being Orange County things. What with the winds and darkness and cold and lightening. Great weather for staying in and reading. Or working on lesson plans. Both were ways the brunette had passed the time while avoiding any and all questions about what had happened with Anakin.
It couldn't last though and Clara knew that. One, she was able to talk for longer periods of time so it wasn't like she could use the whole vocal rest excuse. Then there was the fact that John was getting the information, meaning Troy would get it eventually.. (There had been a brief moment of contemplating just emailing Troy with the clip from Star Wars plus what she had told John, but that seemed far too impersonal and she didn't actually want to look up clips on YouTube just to answer a question.) It didn't matter that she had a very real fear of Anakin hurting either John or Troy if they learned what had happened and wanted to do something about it. Regardless of what they thought, she would always do what she had to in order to protect them. Even if it meant not telling them about what had happened.
In theory. In practice, Clara knew that they would find out and she should just get it over with. The wind outside was loud, and she was pretty certain if she went outside, it would knock her over with the force it was going at. Not to mention the black hole seeming to come from the sky. She didn't believe that this would be the end. (That would be rather depressing. Orange County had a way of righting itself, so she would just hope.) It did mean that she really should say something. But it was harder than one would think. Oh, Clara could talk about whatever she wanted if you got her started, but something like this? A lot more complicated. Finding the words, making sense of it all when she still hadn't managed that for her own benefit. She just knew what had happened.
Sighing in frustration, she sipped her tea as she stared at the page on the book she'd been reading in the living room. She'd been on that page for a long time now, just trying to figure out what to say. Distracted.
