Who: Elaine, baby Lavaine, and Sparhawk What: Baby update! Where: their home in London When: now-ish Warnings: most likely not, though will update.
Elaine was lying on the floor, watching Lavaine. He was so entertaining these days. Right now, he was trying very hard to stuff both hands into his mouth.
She laughed and Lavaine grinned around his hands and gurgled.
"Do those hands taste good?" she cooed, and tickled her baby's tummy. Elaine didn't even mind when two spit-damp hands landed on her face.
She was happier than she had ever been in her life. |

Who: Elaine and Sparhawk...and NPC midwife What: Childbirth! Where: Their home When: Sometime in the coming week Warnings: not many. Unless Childbirth squicks you.
Elaine couldn't sleep, so she had gotten up and went into the kitchen for water and a piece of bread, getting up carefully so as not to startle her husband. She'd been aching since before she went to bed, her back and legs just hurting, and since she was pregnant, unable to take anything for it. The warming spells her husband cast on the area helped but not enough.
She was tired out, as if she hadn't been to sleep at all. After a sip of water and a bite of bread, she found that she was no longer hungry or thirsty. She paced, rubbing the small of her back. Almost unconsciously, she began to breathe as the midwife taught her, and minutes slipped away. The next pain had to come before she realized that she was in labor. She gasped as if she'd been hit and bent over, hands on her hips, breathing and concentrating. "Sparhawk?" she murmured, knowing that he'd hear her even in sleep. He would hear that her voice was rather...strained. |

Who: Older!Elaine and Younger!Sparhawk and...Faran What: Sometimes, you just have to confide in someone, even if it is a horse. Where: In the stables When: Around now-ish. Warnings: Who knows?
Elaine, clad in blue jeans and a soft t-shirt, went into the stables. "Hullo, Faran." She had almost forgotten how mighty a horse he had been, and it was something of a shock to see him again.
"It's so strange being back here, and so far from my children..." She looked up at the horse and sighed. "I am so frightened I'll never see them again, Faran. Or my man." Elaine came close and put an arm around the horse's neck. Faran nuzzled her head, and Elaine smiled again.
"He's a good man, isn't he? I know your younger self takes good care of him, and he of you." Elaine takes out a brush and begins grooming Faran. "If I could just see my man, let him know that I am well and will be returning to him..." She hoped.
Elaine sighed. "This place is so confusing. I wish things made sense."
Faran snorted and pushed against her with his nose. "I know...I worry too much. Sparhawk always says that to me." She goes on grooming Faran, a soft smile on her face. |

Who: Older!Elaine and Younger!Sparhawk What: Waking up on Saturday Where: Their house. When: Saturday morning. Warnings: Quite possibly. Perhaps.
Elaine was having a rather strange dream that night, that the children had all run away from her to play tag, and her husband was nowhere to be found. And for some reason, they were all playing in the courtyard of her father's estate. That was bittersweet, for she had not seen her father since she was a very young girl.
So she was very glad when she came into consciousness, feeling the cool sheets against her skin, and with the smell of home as she breathed in. She could feel that Sparhawk was still here with her, sleeping very deeply, it seemed.
With her eyes still closed, she rolled over to cuddle against him, her bare skin against him and her arms around him.
Suddenly, Elaine's eyes popped open.
This is not Sparhawk... She sat up cautiously, leaning over to see the stranger's face... |
