Who: Older!Elaine and Younger!Sparhawk and...Faran
What: Sometimes, you just have to confide in someone, even if it is a horse.
Where: In the stables
When: Around now-ish.
Warnings: Who knows?

Elaine, clad in blue jeans and a soft t-shirt, went into the stables. "Hullo, Faran." She had almost forgotten how mighty a horse he had been, and it was something of a shock to see him again.

"It's so strange being back here, and so far from my children..." She looked up at the horse and sighed. "I am so frightened I'll never see them again, Faran. Or my man." Elaine came close and put an arm around the horse's neck. Faran nuzzled her head, and Elaine smiled again.

"He's a good man, isn't he? I know your younger self takes good care of him, and he of you." Elaine takes out a brush and begins grooming Faran. "If I could just see my man, let him know that I am well and will be returning to him..." She hoped.

Elaine sighed. "This place is so confusing. I wish things made sense."

Faran snorted and pushed against her with his nose. "I know...I worry too much. Sparhawk always says that to me." She goes on grooming Faran, a soft smile on her face.

	Sparhawk wandered in and saw Faran and his grin grew wide. "Faran!" He bounced over and was soon examining the horse from all angles, then grinning at Elaine, and making a bow. "Hello, my most beautiful lady!" He was... bouncy. (Reply to this) (Thread)

	Elaine laughed. "Heavens, but you startled me!" she exclaimed, leaning over to give him a kiss, almost shyly. "I was just visiting an old friend, of course." She patted Faran's neck. "What have you been up to, dearest?" (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	"Mostly trying to understand the computer, and to practice with the tools. I have been introduced to them in my time, but not yet done much work, and I wanted to be able to do my best here and now." He smiled softly, and kissed her. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Faran snorted at them. "Oh, quiet, ye dear beastie." She patted his muzzle and the horse pushed at her head again. "Understanding the computer is...only slightly possible at best," she says with a laugh. "You'd do better to just use it and not understand it." She kissed him back. 	"I...have been well, though it is strange to me to be back so far in my past. I was so young then." She shook her head. "I feel as if I should still be nine months pregnant and big as a house!" she said wistfully. Faran blew air over her head, stirring her hair. "Oh, all right, I'll stop talking nonsense." 	Elaine laughed. "Dear one, I'm afraid my childbearing years have been over for many a day. But you are a sweet, sweet man for offering." Faran did the equine equivalent of a snort and an eyeroll. "All right, Faran. We shall go and continue our canoodling elsewhere." She put her arm around him. "Such a sensitive beast he is," she said affectionately. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Sparhawk was startled by her words and subsided into silence as they moved away from Faran. He patted the horse before hugging Elaine and forming his words carefully. "He is..." He glanced at her. "You could have a child again, if you wanted one." (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	"I..." She tilted her head. "What are you saying, dear? I am a grandmother...I had my first when I was younger than you are now. And he has children of his own." Granted, she'd had her last only six years ago...but six years is a long time for an ordinary human female. Even if Sparhawk has...helped her along a little. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

He breathed, and shook his head.

"Older me may have forgotten, or more likely, forgotten the spell's particulars and thus not want to risk a mis-spell with you, and neither would I. But I am in the midst of learning and have just learned, and successfully cast a spell that would aid thee, if you would wish it. It is a spell of fertility, used by the Styrics to help older matrons take on children, to keep their people going. I cast it on a village Ellene, and, with her husband's participation, she was pronounced pregnant a week later, successfully."

He looked at her and swallowed.

"I could cast it on thee, milady."
