It had been way too long since Jean had flown.

It had also been a long time since she had used her Phoenix gifts to light enemies on fire, but that was far less enjoyable. When this was over, whatever this was, she'd have to make a point of doing it more.

But first, there was work to be done. Some of it was merely ridiculous, like the giant rabbits and singing plants. But vampires and werewolves and these strange goblin men she faced now were terrifying.

Or would be, if she was a different woman. This destruction and terror just made her angry. Very angry.

A girl wearing a light blue dress walked silently through the streets. Her head was tilted and her gaze steady, and her barefoot feet stepped toe to heel, toe to heel, as though processing. There was chaos all around her, but she regarded it with vague curiosity and slight confusion rather than fear.
