Charles hasn't been able to think. It wasn't exactly something he normally had a problem with, but he really had no idea what to do. Sadako hadn't said a word, but her implications had been clear and he couldn't just ignore them anymore. He just had no idea what to do about it.

Erik being around made everything worse. He didn't know if Erik had anything close to similar feelings and he highly doubted it. So he had to figure out what to do about all of this. So he had been pushing Erik away, at least until he could straighten things out in his head. Erik had mentioned coming over and Charles told him he had too many papers to grade and he couldn't handle distraction right now. Erik didn't sound too happy about it, but he didn't push it, luckily.

Charles set to actually grading the papers. It wasn't nearly as daunting a task as he'd pretending, but it did still need to be done.

	Charles laughed a little at that, sipping at the next glass. He looked up at Erik with a smile still on his lips, "It's been a hard couple of days." He was taking this glass slower, but that didn't mean much. At the rate he was going he would finish his second glass before Erik finished his first. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Charles grinned. Erik's concern wasn't unexpected, but it was welcome none-the-less, but one drink was not enough to be telling him that. "Sadako went and said...something and now I just can't stop thinking about it, which isn't healthy. Telepaths." His second drink was empty when he brought the glass up for a sip. He looked at the bottle and wondered if he should have more. He probably should.

He reached for the bottle to pour more into the small glass.

	He nodded, "You do tend to mull over things for some time. Longer than necessary, I'd guess." That brow was still arched, "And you have a tendency to run things around in circles ." Charles was getting a very eloquent brow arch in response to this most recent revelation. Really it was something he'd suspected, and he wasn't entirely sure what to do with confirmation now that he had it, "Is this about what Belgamine said?"

That was at the heart of Erik's own line of thought. He'd never really needed to worry about what people thought because he could always just move on and go somewhere else. But of course Charles would care, as used to keeping up appearances as Erik suspected he must be.

Charles bit his lip. "When BB was talking it was just some girl talking. She can't read my thoughts. It was very easy to ignore. Erik. You are the closest friend I've ever had. At times you've been my only friend. I don't know why I refused to see what others have seen plainly. I just." He put his empty glass down, not letting himself think about it anymore and walked the very few steps to Erik's chair. He put his hands on the arm rests and leaned forward, kissing the other man soundly on the lips. He closed his eyes, praying for a reaction from Erik that wasn't punching him or pushing him away.

Whatever end to that line of thought Erik had been expecting, that definitely wasn't it. Even a little. It wasn't often that he was knocked completely speechless, but Charles had a habit of doing it.

There was more than a little inward flailing, but even that was short-lived, and he braced a hand against Charles' shoulder, just for a moment, he had, initially, intended to lever the other man off, but somewhere along the way that push turned into sliding that hand over against the nape of the other man's neck, just holding there. If asked, he wouldn't be able to say why aside from the fact that it felt like the right thing to do.

Charles tensed when he felt the hand on his shoulder, ready to pull away if Erik pushed him. When the hand went to his neck he relaxed, one hand moving to Erik's cheek.

After a few more moments he broke the kiss, leaning his forehead against Erik's. "Stay. Please." Part of his brain thought if Erik left now he wouldn't see him again. It didn't make a lot of sense, but he needed Erik to stay.

Touch was something that Erik always craved, though he rarely admitted as much, even to himself, something about never having gotten enough of it growing up. He wasn't going to think about it. He just tilted his head up into Charles' fingers, just a little, and without breaking that kiss just yet.

His tongue flicked out over his lower lip when Charles drew away, the movement reflexive, it took a moment for the request to sink in, and when it did he shook his head, a bare little movement, "Not going anywhere."

	Charles watched the tongue and smiled when Erik said he wouldn't leave. "Good. Good." He hadn't taken his hand from Erik's cheek. He kissed him again, not really being able to help himself. The fact that nothing horrible had happened had encouraged him and he was actually feeling a bit giddy. It was a more heated kiss. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Mostly he wasn't going to go anywhere because he didn't want to break whatever spell or thrall or dream they were clearly both in, it was something else he didn't want to think about too hard in case it all came crashing down.

He was, however, perfectly content to return that kiss in kind, fingers twining through the hair at the nape of Charles' neck once more, not about to let him get away again as easily as he had before.

Charles was enjoying this. Erik's fingers in his hair felt amazing and touching him and being touched and kissing him. He really hadn't realized how much he wanted this.

His hand that was still on the arm rest slipped and his balance was completely toppled. He fell to the side and brought the chair and Erik to the floor with him. He made a noise that was completely undignified as he fell.

When he realized the gravity shift wasn't all in his head, he tried to catch them both, and he almost managed. Mostly he managed to make sure they didn't do themselves any damage as they fell, free arm looping around Charles' waist instinctively, taking most of the impact. It was reflex, really, to try and keep Charles safe.

He was silent for a moment once they'd landed, and a moment more, and then he just started laughing.

Charles did his best to catch himself so all his weight didn't fall on Erik, but with his arm around his waist and the upset in balance he couldn't help much. He looked down at Erik and when he started laughing he couldn't help but smile. Erik didn't laugh often and he liked the sound. He felt his heart do a little flop watching him. Damn, he had fallen harder than he thought.

He started laughing as well, not bothering to try and move. It was actually pretty comfortable just laying here on top of Erik.

	The laughter did finally wind down, though he hadn't yet uncurled his arm from around the other man's waist, apparently he didn't mind the weight at all, "I think, that perhaps the next time you catch me off guard, you shouldn't do it quite so thoroughly. 	That was much better, actually, and far more stable, which meant that Erik could lean up into the kiss in turn, fingers settling against the nape of Charles' neck again, deepening the kiss after a moment, simply because he could. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Charles moaned into the kiss. He threaded his fingers into Erik's short hair, pulling just a little. Every now and then it would hit him that this was really happening and he'd kiss him harder. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)
