Charles hasn't been able to think. It wasn't exactly something he normally had a problem with, but he really had no idea what to do. Sadako hadn't said a word, but her implications had been clear and he couldn't just ignore them anymore. He just had no idea what to do about it.

Erik being around made everything worse. He didn't know if Erik had anything close to similar feelings and he highly doubted it. So he had to figure out what to do about all of this. So he had been pushing Erik away, at least until he could straighten things out in his head. Erik had mentioned coming over and Charles told him he had too many papers to grade and he couldn't handle distraction right now. Erik didn't sound too happy about it, but he didn't push it, luckily.

Charles set to actually grading the papers. It wasn't nearly as daunting a task as he'd pretending, but it did still need to be done.

The avoidance had started to get under Erik's skin a little, and actually more than just a little, especially now with the Great Reshelving almost finished he wouldn't have any real reason to come visit the other man aside from just wanting to, and he'd never been much good at voicing desires like that, not really.

Add to that the fact that he really had been floundering here, a little, before Charles had arrived, though that fact was one that he would hardly even admit to himself, let alone anyone else.

So it was a slightly more disgruntled than usual Erik that showed up on Charles' front step that evening, after having given the telepath what Erik thought was ample time for grading papers. He could have let himself in, he knew, it was what he'd done up until that evening, enough so, in fact, that Charles was only rarely surprised to find him there. Tonight, however, he rang the bell, just like anyone else.

Charles noticed Erik before he rang the bell. He always kept a bit of a 'watch' around the flat. Part of him thought about not answering the door. He had told Erik he wouldn't be available at all. He wasn't even grading papers anymore. He had been thinking. Which really wasn't a great way to spend your time, just worrying over things.

He got up and answered the door. Erik never rang the bell, he just walked in. "Erik. I thought I was clear I would be busy." He still moved away from the door to let Erik in. He looked a little worse for wear. He hadn't been sleeping well, not that it had been too horribly long, a few days for poor sleep wouldn't really hurt him.

	Charles hadn't quite been looking him in the eye. He looked up at Erik, or at least, somewhere just to the right of him and turned away. Part of him wanted to tell him to go. 	"That's true." Charles didn't have any more papers to grade, but he didn't really want to tell Erik. "That's not necessary. I should probably stop looking at papers for a few minutes." 	"I figured this would be the most likely place to find you, as flighty as you've been lately." He said, settling into one of the kitchen chairs, just leaning back in it, making himself comfortable. 	"I'll survive. I'm good at that." He gave a narrow shrug, settling himself back a little in his chair, "I'll even accept the busy excuse." 	That made Charles feel more guilty than if Erik had made a big deal of it. He turned around, handing Erik his tea. "I. I've been thinking a lot recently. And I haven't really come to any conclusions. I didn't really want to bring it up until I had." He knew it didn't make a lot of sense. He stared at his tea, not even taking a sip of it. 	His brow creased slightly as he accepted the mug, just holding it between both hands to warm his fingers, "Should I leave it be until you've come to some sort of conclusion then?" Charles felt a bit of relief as he got up to get two glasses and the bottle of scotch he kept for these purposes. He poured a small amount for each of them and handed Erik his glass. "I just can't drink alone." He meant to sip on the drink. Really he had. He downed the whole thing quickly and poured another glass for himself, warning himself to slow down or this would... well, it would be interesting.

	Erik hadn't ever seen the other man drink like that, and he wasn't entirely sure whether to be entirely amused, or just a little worried. As it was, he settled for something sort of in-between, brow arching as he commented mildly: "No, I can see why not, you need someone to remind you it isn't going to run away." 	Charles laughed a little at that, sipping at the next glass. He looked up at Erik with a smile still on his lips, "It's been a hard couple of days." Charles grinned. Erik's concern wasn't unexpected, but it was welcome none-the-less, but one drink was not enough to be telling him that. "Sadako went and said...something and now I just can't stop thinking about it, which isn't healthy. Telepaths." His second drink was empty when he brought the glass up for a sip. He looked at the bottle and wondered if he should have more. He probably should.

He reached for the bottle to pour more into the small glass.

	He nodded, "You do tend to mull over things for some time. Longer than necessary, I'd guess." That brow was still arched, "And you have a tendency to run things around in circles ." Charles was getting a very eloquent brow arch in response to this most recent revelation. Really it was something he'd suspected, and he wasn't entirely sure what to do with confirmation now that he had it, "Is this about what Belgamine said?"

That was at the heart of Erik's own line of thought. He'd never really needed to worry about what people thought because he could always just move on and go somewhere else. But of course Charles would care, as used to keeping up appearances as Erik suspected he must be.
