Nimue enjoyed the quiet of this world, at times. Mordred had gone to bed already. She was sprawled out over the couch, book in hand. Most of the lights in the apartment were out, but she had a lamp on the end table providing illumination for her to read.

She could hear Mordred's quiet breathing in the next room, and was glad to know he was safe. This world afforded them more certainty, which was a blessing. They didn't have to worry about Uther's knights raiding them in the middle of the night. She wasn't bound to a fate that she needed to follow through on. They could make their life into what they pleased, and that's exactly what she was doing.

	She smirked. "Do I need to put on a sweater first?" she teased, amused by his inability to even look at her. "Perhaps a parka?" She stepped back, letting him inside. 	He walked over and sat next to her, one knee up on the couch so he could face her better. "Arthur wants me to move to the castle. Nimue raised an eyebrow. "As a ward?" she repeated. Nimue had expected Arthur to suggest Merlin live in the castle as a servant of some sort. But he was to become a royal ward? "Merlin, that's.. That's really.." She honestly wasn't sure what to say. "It sounds like things are going well between you and Arthur. Maybe he's finally starting to grow wise." She knew one day Arthur would appreciate Merlin, but she thought he would have more grey hairs before that day came.

Nimue shifted on the couch, moving to lean against Merlin and cuddle into his side. "It's hardly 'leaving', darling. It's nice having you across the hall, but you would still be able to get here just as quickly," she said, fingering the necklace she had given him that allowed him to teleport to her side at will.

"And you will always have a place here... Though, I suppose there would only be one bed between the two of us.." She still occasionally teased Merlin, though she didn't push hard. She had agreed to move slowly out of respect for him, but she had to throw him a line every now and then to let him know she was still interested.

	Merlin smiled, "I guess your right. It's not hard for us to reach each other" Merlin blushed lightly but moved a little closer to her. "Maybe that wouldn't be a problem." 	"For what it's worth, Merlin, you don't need to worry about any insecurities from me. Mordred and I will be fine here." She smiled, draped over him now. She was closer than she had been to him in some time, the contours of her body pressed against him. "It isn't a problem for me, no," she purred. "You know how I feel, Merlin." 	She kissed him back, her eyes closing. "Darling, Mordred's asleep. If you'd like, you could stay here tonight." She'd gotten a machine that made white noise to help Mordred sleep. It had 'nature sounds' that made him feel more at home. It would also help drown out any noise that she and Merlin might make. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)
