After Lulu and the boys had left, Gabe turned around back to Lilo at the table. "You. You and I need to talk." He sat down at the chair next to her, a hand resting on her back. "What'd you think of having the little ones around? You okay?" She looked fine, but watching the movie had to have been difficult for her.

"You need your entire soul." Gabe looked at her with a severity he hoped was only half serious. "Do you see why I'm not ready to jump into something, though? I don't even know all the specifics of what we'd have to do." And Father forbid anything happening to this woman. He'd never recover.
