After Lulu and the boys had left, Gabe turned around back to Lilo at the table. "You. You and I need to talk." He sat down at the chair next to her, a hand resting on her back. "What'd you think of having the little ones around? You okay?" She looked fine, but watching the movie had to have been difficult for her.

There was that laugh. He was stupid about that laugh. Gabe made a happy noise when she kissed him, his hands moving down to rest on her hips. "And I'm sorry if I was an asshole. I'm not ... tactful. I didn't want you pissed at me, but I don't want you sad, either."
