Who: Thirteen, Tony and Sophie Stark
What: A family outing

Where: The zoo
Warnings: I swear there will be no sex. They're out in public. With the kid. Swear.

The day was fairly warm, warm enough to enjoy their little adventure to the zoo. But Remy made sure that she bundled Sophie up, and the three of them headed out to the zoo. She wondered if Sophie had ever been to the zoo, what she'd seen and what she hadn't seen. Though she could talk, it wasn't like the kid could really talk about what had gone on in her past. That was for a later time, she supposed.

Getting into the zoo, she hm'd a bit, looking at Tony with a grin before looking down at Sophie in her stroller. The kid could walk, but she was two and they'd have to carry her most of the way without the stroller. "Okay kiddo.. do you want to see the monkey's first? Or the polar bears?" that seemed like a good place to start since they were the first ones you came to depending on which way you walked.

It was a good thing he had Remy to tell him he shouldn't buy a zoo for a two year old if he ever had the inclination to actually go through with it. She loved watching him smile, both of them now. "Penguins huh? You like Happy Feet?" she wondered if they had that movie. Guess she'd figure it out when they got back home.

She pushed the stroller through to the Penguin exhibit, having to go inside a building for that one. But it had one of those fun moving side walk things. Sophie was eager to get out of the stroller again, but this time made arms for Daddy to hold her. "I wanna penguin!" Sophie shouted, giggling at how they walked.

It was definitely a good thing he had Remy as his voice of reason, because he epically sucked at that. He opened his arms and reached out, taking Sophie in his them and holding her close. "I...uh," he looked at Remy at how to answer that one. "How about Daddy buy you a giant stuffed penguin from the gift shop on our way out? Keeping a penguin takes a lot of effort, honey." And probably a lot of money he didn't want to tank into a live one.

"If we don't have Happy Feet, we'll get it while we're out." He pointed tot he penguin that was waddling closer and closer to the glass. "Look, see. Wave to him." Sophie's little hand waved at the penguin, then patted the glass.

"Not to mention it's not cold enough in the mansion to keep a penguin.. they want it reaaaaaal cold.." Remy nodded, trying not to smirk at the fact that Tony was ready to buy their kid a penguin. "Besides you can cuddle a stuffed penguin.. a really big one.. bigger then you. Can't really snuggle a real one.." which seemed to pacify the little girl all around. She was going to be bought a present, that was good enough for her.

After they'd moved through the penguin exhibit, watching them dive underwater for fish and the like, she looked around. "Hm.. sea lions and the walruses and all that next?" she asked, getting a nod from her daughter, so off they went to go find the ones that were playing in the water. "Oh look otters.. otters are so cute.."

It seemed like it was easy to pacify the women in his life with gifts these days. Looks like he'd empty out the gift shop before they left and he'd be stuck carrying it all. Women.

He carried Sophie the rest of the way along the cages and viewing areas, letting Remy just nudge the stroller along. Sophie leaned over and whispered in Tony's ear, her hand hiding her mouth, which made him smile and look over at Remy. "Should I get you a stuffed otter to cuddle?" he asked, both of them grinning at her.

Hey she wasn't picking out stuffed animals or anything like that. Remy was totally not going to ask for a monkey, or a lion or anything of the sort. Kids got spoiled. She got spoiled for Valentine's Day, really that was enough.

She watched the two of them at the otters, whispering to each other. Well at least it was.. no wait what? "Me? You want to get me a stuffed otter? To cuddle? Funny.. I have a monkey to cuddle right here.." she poked Tony in the side which made Sophie giggle.

"Sophie thinks you should get one since she's getting something. Daddy's supposed to buy Mommy something, too. At least, that's her logic, anyway," he said, shrugging. "Hey!" and laughed, swatting at her. "Not fair going for a ticklish spot. Didn't she say I was a lion, anyway? Monkey, my a--butt." He frowned, having almost slipped up. "Which makes you the lioness and her the cub," and he raised her in the air like Rafiki did with baby Simba in the Lion King. "All will bow down and worship the new princess," he laughed, lowering Sophie and tickling her by blowing on her neck.

"Ticklish spot? Really? So you are ticklish?" she stroked her chin quite evilly, "I'll have to remember that.. both of us huh?" she asked Sophie, who giggled and tried to tickle her daddy too. "You're her lion.. and you're my monkey.. " but really Sophie was too busy giggling at her father's antics, especially being lifted into the air like a baby lion. "See? Total monkey.." she said pointedly with a smirk and then started to laugh when he started to tickle her. She bowed lowly, "If she asks for a crown it's all your fault."

Tony hadn't even considered he was just portraying an actual monkey from a movie just now, and it dawned on him which lead to a very facepalm moment in his head. "Fine..fine...I'm her lion and your monkey. I still don't see where you get the idea, aside from the obvious one I just did, where I am a monkey." Tickling her more, Sophie laughed so hard she couldn't breathe.

"Stop, Daddy!" and laughed harder, squirming around in his arms to get away.

"Okay, okay. When we get out of here, I'll carry you on my shoulders. How's that sound? No more tickle monster." Sophie clapped her hands together and tried to climb up higher on Tony. "Wait...wait...give me a sec," but she didn't listen and made to get on his shoulders. "I'm obviously not the only monkey."

Remy just kind of grinned at them both, "I can be a walrus if you want? Or a platypus? Or like a .. rhino? Or a hippo! I could be a hippo.. there you go.. whatcha wanna go see now kiddo?" she asked as her daughter climbed up on top of Tony to get onto his shoulders. "Looks like she does like to climb.." she noted.

Once Sophie got settled on top of Tony's shoulders, she shrugged her little shoulders and Remy decided to just head down the way they were going. "Ooh the elephants and the giraffes! How about those? I think I smell them.." her nose wrinkled a bit.

They started off in that direction, pushing the empty stroller but glad they had it since it looked like they were going to buy the whole store when they got to the gift shop.

"Hippo? Where did that one come from? That's the most random choice I've ever heard. Well, you kind of yawn like one. All wide like this." Then Tony leaned his head back a little and opened his mouth as wide as he could. "That's Mommy in the morning."

Tony reached up and Sophie's little hands grabbed onto his to hold herself steady. "I think this is the way to the animals from Africa, which means," he said, then peered up at Sophie, "lions should be just around the bend."

"I was trying to think of ugly stupid animals.." she shrugged a little. "At least I don't look vicious.. though hippos do kill more people in Africa then even like.. crocodiles I think.. go figure.." not that she should be telling the kid that. Ever. "You just think I have a big mouth.. which is fine.. since you fling poo.."

"All right then let's head that way.." they did walk around the way and then saw the big moat and pen across the way with the lions and then the tigers on the other side. "Look.. big big kitties.. which ones do you like best?" she asked her daughter. "The lions or the tigers? We just need bears oh my.."

The way that the two of them flung insults at each other, it's a wonder that Sophie didn't think they fought all the time. Maybe she understood that was how they were, how they expressed their affection for each other. "You're so lucky she's here. I had a great comeback. Censoring makes our conversations very boring."

Sophie giggled at the reference from the Wizard of Oz, "Tigers growl like this, rawr!" she said, making claws with her hands. "Raaaawr!" she growled again and scratched at Tony's hair, mussing it up.

"Does that mean she likes tigers more?" he asked.

"Ha!" Remy looked quite triumphed that she won this round. She thought Sophie just knew that they were teasing each other. She figured that they'd explain that to her because well they did it so often, they'd just have to.

"Rawr!" she growled back, mimicking Sophie's movements and then helped to muss up Tony's hair quite a bit. His hair was just about everywhere. How fun. "That's a good look on you," she teased.

"Think so.." she nodded a bit. "Tigers have stripes.. that's cuter.."

"What the---hey! Stop that! You're ruining my perfectly coiffed hair," he frowned when they finished, sort of reminding them of Sam the Eagle from the Muppets. "You two are in so much trouble," he said, pointing to each one.

He quickly tried smoothing his hair back down, but Sophie kept messing it right back up, so he just gave up with a sigh. "But lions have manes and killer soundtracks with African singing."

"I'm surprised we can actually move your hair it's got so much gel in it.." after all it was usually slicked back and all that.." she watched as Sophie kept messing it up. She waited for him to really tell her to stop and her want to climb over to Mommy and mess her hair up. Though Remy had longer hair, so maybe it wasn't as fun.

"I dunno, I like both .." she shrugged a bit. "All right let's go see the elephants and the giraffes.. I like giraffes .. they're very tall.."

"Holy Christ, is this Cheap Shot Day? Jeez. You're taking advantage of the fact I'm holding her, aren't you?" and flattened his lips into a thin line. Tony wouldn't tell them to stop; he really didn't care that they were screwing with his hair.

"That's why Mommy likes Daddy so much. He's very...tall. You have an affinity for long things," he said, repositioning Sophie so he wasn't getting a crick in his neck.

"I wish I could climb a giraffe and sit on the head so I can be waaay up in the air," she said, sticking her arms over her head to simulate height.

"Sorry.. it's just a little funny.. I'll stop.." she smiled a bit, trying to get herself to stop teasing him. "You're right, that is why I like you so much.. cause you're so tall.." she leaned up and kissed his cheek.

"Dunno how you'd get up there.. don't thing giraffes have any handles to climb up honey bunny.." she ruffled Sophie's hair with a grin and then headed to the elephants. "You can climb elephants though.."

They just tended to trample people.

His cheek blushed a little wen she kissed him. They were being cute in public, the picture perfect family, and it weirded him out a little. No one would have ever pictured Ton Stark as the model of a family man.

He let Sophie slide down and he caught her, bringing her around to cradle in his arms. "I should build her something so she can hover around at the house. Something with just a small amount of power so she doesn't ram into things. Then she can fly up about ten feet."

"Yay! I want to fly like Daddy! Go whoooosh through the air!" And she spread her arms out like wings.

"Here, fly over to Mommy then," and he held her out so he could swing her and "fly" her over into her mother's arms.

Aw she got him to blush. That was cute. But she wasn't going to embarrass him. She didn't ever think that she'd be some kind of family person either, especially with her job but she was glad they were there. The three of them out and about.

She blinked a bit when he suggested letting her get up, "Okay.. while I'm not freaking out that she could hurt herself.. I'm more worried that there are things people usually put up in high places to make sure kids don't swallow them or whatever.. I mean I guess we can.. just.. move things.."

She didn't really know, so she just shrugged. "If you wanna.." she reached out and took a hold of Sophie into her arms and smiled. "Hi baby.."

"Hi Momma.." Sophie kissed her cheek, imitating her mother and father and they walked down towards yet another group of animals.

"I was thinking more along the lines of something for her to play with outdoors where she doesn't break the house. It'll take me a while to design and build, so it will be warm outside and I can show her how to move in it." He'd probably have to wear the suit or make something similar to it for himself. Maybe he should just make something he could fly the both of them on to satisfy Sophie's need to be like her dad and zoom about.

Tony took over pushing the stroller beside the two of them, smiling at how cute they looked together. When Remy held her, the resemblance showed more. "There's the gorilla cages," he pointed then pulled out the map. "Wolves are not far from them."

Putting her hands up, she surrendered, "All right fine.. but you're watching her outside since I obviously can't go bail her out of trouble at ten feet in the air.." she looked at both of them pointedly and then headed in the direction of the gorillas.

"Let's go see those monkeys then.." she stuck her tongue out at Tony when Sophie wasn't really looking at either of them and grinned, giving him the stroller so that he could push it. "Then wolves.. or wolves then monkeys.. either way.."

"Don't worry, I wouldn't just turn her loose with something like that. I'm more responsible than that." He paused. "Okay, I'm not, but I'm learning." Learning to take responsibility for a kid was a lot harder than he thought. Tony narrowed his eyes and stuck his tongue out at her in return. "Monkeys first. Get my embarrassment over with."

The three of them walked up to the monkey cage, though Tony knew better to keep a little distance. Never know what the primates might pull. He'd seen Most Dangerous Animals on television before. "Look at the lemur going across the little zipline," he said, pointing at the tiny monkey.

She tried not to snicker at Tony and his lack of responsibility. She knew better then to think he was responsible enough for a kid. But to be that responsible herself, she just didn't know. Most people did this thing with not much thought, so they just had to take it as it came she supposed.

They all kept back, not wanting to get shit thrown on them or anything else. "Aw look at that one with the red butt..looks like yours.." she whispered to Tony, grabbing his butt slightly when Sophie was paying attention to the monkeys and seemed oblivious. Ha.

"The baboon--" then his eyes widened. Now weren't they supposed to be having a nice family outing? She just had to throw down the gauntlet. Fine. Challenge accepted.

Tony moved a little behind the pair of them, which made Sophie turn her head to see what he was doing. She's a kid, very easily distracted he figured, so he pointed at another monkey, drawing her watchful eyes away from him for the time being. "Oh, look. The baby monkey's climbing on its mother." While he had her distracted, Tony put his hand on Remy's ass and let it slide just under her as if it were heading between her legs from the back, then pulled away.

Remy knew what was coming, since she'd started it. But it was an amusing little thing. And they were out in public. God helped anyone behind them, watching them feel up each other in front of the kid. While Sophie giggled over the monkeys, Remy just stared at Tony and smirked.

She squirmed slightly and mockingly glared. "All right.. so.. onto the wolves right? This way.." she started heading off in that direction, shifting Sophie in her arms.
