Who: Darius and Remy
What: realizing that Darius isn't good at avoiding trouble
Where: Italy, to start
When: tomorrow morning/afternoon
Warnings: cursing, references to mischief, college humor.

Darius groaned as he shifted, grabbing his head. Remy was another one of those people that drank almost out of desperation more than enjoyment. Darius had foolishly tried to keep up, and now he was regretting it a great deal.

He wobbled to the bathroom and contemplated curling up in the tub for the next week. Instead he relieved himself and ran the hot water over his head for a few minutes, until he felt like he could move. He removed his contacts and stuck them in the case, rubbing his eyes a lot.

As he made his way back to the living room where he'd passed out, he nearly ran into Remy. "Huh?" Articulation was rarely Darius's strong point, and even less so now.

"Alright."

If Remy could do it, he could too. Beside, twenty minutes wasn't that long.

He did steal a pair of warm gloves and a set of goggles, though. He couldn't afford to lose his glasses, since his contacts were still in Italy.

"Lead the way."

Remy nodded and gassed the engine the angry buzz becoming a manic scream as he cut across the snow into the tended woods around the landing strip.

Sure following the road would make sense, but this was fun! It was another ten before the gothic hunting-lodge-cum-hunting-mansion began to loom ahead.

It would have been a formidable sight and perfect for some vampire movie, except for a few stained glass roses of Badtz Maru, Keropipi, and her majesty, Hello Kitty.

Darius followed along, staying out of Remy's wake. The snowmobile ran hot enough that he didn't feel too terribly cold.

The sight of the hunting lodge just made him shake his head. "People have zero taste."

"He can afford to have no taste. People don't take him seriously dis way. Den are horribly surprised by the tech he has and his bodyguards."

He grinned. "Really a clever one."

"Obviously. You don't get to be the CEO of a company like Sanrio without being a sneaky bastard."

He eyed the place. "Okay. So we're here. What's next?" He could work with other people better than Nathan too. There wasn't an all consuming need to be the leader.

He shook his head, trying to get himself to focus. He could be better than Nathan later.

"We go through the front door, up the walls to an unlocked window or through the air vents."

"One is unexpected, one is sneaky and the last no one actually ever does in real life, which makes it memorable."

"I could do the air vent thing, I think." He eyed his shoes. "Barefoot, at least. But the front door is good too. Maybe split up, one take one route, the other take the other? You go through a window, I'll burst in like an idiot, draw them away from the target and you can get out and save my ass."

It was an okay plan, right?

Remy chuckled and nodded.

"You wanna take point, sounds good t'me, know you'll do fine. Here are two .45s. I know you've taken nimble ninja classes, but dere are times when a bullet is better."

He grinned and clapped the blond on the shoulder. "Get out of dis one alive. Dere's too much booze still in Venice."

He walked around to the eastern ornate wall and eyed it as old tricks came back. He began to to spring and acrobat up along smooth granite and away from cameras.

He peeking into the main entryway and chuckled. Seven or so fierce and professional looking blond women in well-tailors boy short-tuxes stood at different spots along the hallway and up the stairs, well armed with AK-47s and swords. Be easy on them, Darius, they're just doing their job.

Darius nodded, eying them a bit. "Man, mafia need a real upgrade in weapon tech."

That's okay. He'd take the first guard down's gun. It was bound to be better. Everything is better in Japan. "They have laser weapons yet?"

It seemed like a good question, but by the time he asked it, Remy was gone. Darius nodded. "Alright, here we go." He strode up to the front door, trying the doorknob. It opened, surprisingly, and he found himself face to boob with two well armed and endowed guards.

"Hello, ladies." He wiggled his eyebrows at them. This was going to be interesting. The first one to draw her gun didn't have time to shoot before Darius had barreled into the other one. The aim here was to make a fuss, a big huge mess. So leaving the guards alive was a priority. But he could shoot at things that weren't people.

The guards began to charge him, only one falling back to alert security. The stranger was very bold to attack like so, but there had to be others. Four came close to attack with stiletto-heeled kicks, the others shouting orders and keeping him from getting any further and one on the stair sharp-shooting but woefully inaccurate.

He was destroying artwork and ancient vases, so they began to tackle him, trying to bring him to the floor.

They were trying to tackle him! Best. Mission. Ever. He grinned and dodged, using his rubberyness to duck and weave, always just out of reach, like the last sliver of soap.

The guards around the most expensive of the artifacts double, but they no longer had guns. Shooting around these artifacts was a good way to get yourself fired.

"Who do you think it is?"

"Mafia. Did you see his suit? Nobody ever breaks in wearing a tie and dress shoes except them."

"Should we close off the air vents?"

The other women giggled. "No, but keep an eye on the windows."
