Alex sat back, peering at the machine, and nodding, head canted. She had done it. After a week of working furiously, ever since Marius, her... son, had taken her aside and filled her head with knowledge of future-past, she had managed to invent what should make things right.

The device glowed with almost an air of magic around it, humming softly and comfortingly, with two rods to be held, each with a button. It accessed the space-time continuum, and channeled energy through a matrix of crystals she had grown this week. All was ready, and now she could make things better again.

She called Belle on the intercom and asked her to come down, then waited.

	Alex snuggled Belle and smiled softly. "Sounds good." She led her over to the machine. "You take one lead, and I take the other, and at the count of three, we both press the button. 	Alex smiled and hugged her, then grasped her lead, and nodded. "One-- Two-- Three..." And she pushed her button as Belle pushed hers. There was a twisting, a pulling, and a sensation like things moving sideways, and stretching... then things snapped back, and Alex, male, normal age, stood there, in the shreds of his female clothing. Marius sighed in relief, and then hugged both of his parents. "Thank God. They were getting really upset."

Marcus started crying, trying to tell his parents everything that had happened. It had been such a long time since he'd seen them.

Belle snuggled her boys, just glad to be holding them again. "Thank you, Marius, Caris. You did a good job with 'em." Her attention was mostly on the toddlers, though.

	Marius didn't need much dragging. He left with Caris, wrapping his arm around her waist. Belle hauled Marcus to her shoulder, gently reestablishing contact with the kid's minds.
