Entry tags:até, kael'thas sunstrider, kitt (2008), marco, seth balmore, soren skwigelf

Who: Prince Kael'Thas Sunstrider and Open to all who want to try and take him down
Where: Rockerfeller Square
When: Saturday
Why: He's reverted to big bad magic guy and has to be stopped
Rating: Uh PG-13 for ass kicking?

He'd sent his phoenix on a rampage, the bird flying high up, and with a flaming strike, dove down and set fire to the entire block around the ice rink in the center of the square.

"Good, good boy. Melt the ice," he instructed, pointing at the rink. "This will make an excellent reconstruction site." The phoenix nodded, circled back around and spewed a jet of flame so hot that the ice melted and began to boil immediately. When it'd finished its task, he moved to hover just above Kael'Thas, where dressed in large arcane robes, he moved about setting what appeared to be some powerful magically imbued gems around the outer ring of the rink. They glowed green with a low hum just like the large green crystal protruding from his chest. He was a shadow of the way he'd been before this. His skin was greyish and gaunt, his face sunken in...one of the Wretched. He'd been resurrected by his master and now he would do what he'd always wished to: restore the Sunwell and bring glory back to his people, the Sin'dorei, children of the blood.

He didn't see anything foreseeable stopping his plans. Soon, all would be well.

On a normal day, Codex would be pretty excited about riding in KITT, even if it wasn't old school KITT. Today, though, her anxiety was palpable. She didn't argue about staying in the car. When the door opened for her, she ducked in and settled down.

Once the door was closed, she confided in the car. "I've never healed from inside a car before. I don't know if you'll have to crack a window or what." She was guessing that as long as she could see them and there was airflow or something, she could probably heal them. They'd have to find out. She was satisfied with this plan, though. She didn't have to get her hands too dirty in trying to kill her boyfriend.

"Oh, life scans would be great, too." She had been thinking she was just going to have to estimate that. But if KITT could show her basically the same sort of interface she had on the game, that would make things easier. Oh, hey, and other perks about being in a car too. "Hey, can I use the seat warmer?" It seemed rude to push buttons without asking.

The dash looks exceedingly luxurious but otherwise unremarkable, that is, apart from the small half-globe set into the center of it. Within that globe, a small, rippling blue binary ocean is dominated by a central red spot that seems to sit upon a thin line. It is that spot that moves now, as if it's some kind of 'eye'. The closest the A.I. can come to visually addressing someone.

"There are a great deal of unknowns about this confrontation," comes the reply, which is eminently masculine, though far more sedate than his predecessor's. On the interior of the windshield, a number of displays pop up, detailing the vital signs of the team that has just assembled. "I have only the baseline standards of human physiology with which to work with, but I will make certain to alert you to any significant change in their status."

With that, the car begins to move, tires squealing in protest at the sudden torque being applied to their static nature as the engine revs and the car accelerates. "I have already activated the heating element within your seat, as I noted a significant drop in your thermal output levels. I have also registered noticeable levels of cortisol and norepinephrine in your system, which would indicate stress, and perhaps worry about the outcome of this engagement."

Codex smiled weakly when KITT said he'd already turned on the warmers. "Thanks." That was kinda sweet. The car probably didn't think in those terms, but it was still nice that he--should she think of him as a 'he'?--anticipated her needs like that.

"Oh," she mumbled when she mentioned her stress levels. "Yeah. Pretty much." She didn't really know what else to say. She was just waiting until someone got hurt, as bad as that sounded. "You're really pretty?" she offered. Her car was an old junker. Nothing like this.

"Oh!" She was startled when she saw the new location. "This looks bad..." She couldn't tell how far along Kael was with his ritual-thing, but stuff was on fire and just...bad. Maybe it was a silly thing to do in KITT, but Cyd reached up and pulled her seatbelt down, buckling it into place.

"Compliments are unnecessary, but they are nonetheless appreciated." The Mustang's speed picks up, as it seeks an advantageous position that will permit her to see the entire field of battle. "Passive restraint system activated. Exoskeleton integrity at one hundred per cent. Nanorepair mods active. Tire pressure normal. Weapons and targeting system online." Readouts and displays pop up and then vanish, lines of code and data streaming past.

"Accessing information on the Massive Multi Online Roleplaying Game known as, 'World of Warcraft.' Tailoring interface for maximum compatibility." With that, a new screen comes up, resembling identically that of the one used in the game. "Will this suffice?"

"Oh, wow. Yeah, that's cool." She marveled at the screen. "Roadtrips with you must be so much fun." She was glad Marco had put her here. Codex tended to babble when she was nervous, and KITT seemed to be letting her do that. For now, at least. She was sure he'd interrupt her when someone got hurt.

"We should probably test this.." she said, leaning over the screen. "Can you crack the window? I'm going to try and buff everybody. We'll see if it works." She said a quick prayer of fortitude and was relieved to see the familiar glow around her party members.

"I am able to access several hundred thousand digital radio broadcasts from across the globe, and am equipped to access satellite telemetry and visual broadcasts from virtually any country in the world. I also possess an extensive database of popular media. According to my understanding of human measures of enjoyment, this would indeed perhaps qualify a potential road trip in my company as, 'fun.'"

KITT draws to a stop, the powerful engine shifting to a lower gear as it idles to observe the battle.

"Have I mentioned how much cooler than my car you are?" She was relaxing a little. Seeing the battle in game-perspective helped her remove her emotions from the fight. Maybe it wasn't a healthy strategy, mentally speaking, but it helped her focus.

"Oh, hey, that was cool," she said as she watched Wolverine's health bar went down and then shot back up to full health. Luckily it didn't seem like anyone was really taking damage yet.

"You had not until this moment, Codex. Thank you." KITT's readouts continue to update with the conflict's progression. "I am not familiar with the mechanics of magic, but it appears to register as another form of energy-- though its precise composition is unknown to me."
