Who: Older!Elaine and Younger!Sparhawk
What: Waking up on Saturday
Where: Their house.
When: Saturday morning.
Warnings: Quite possibly. Perhaps.

Elaine was having a rather strange dream that night, that the children had all run away from her to play tag, and her husband was nowhere to be found. And for some reason, they were all playing in the courtyard of her father's estate. That was bittersweet, for she had not seen her father since she was a very young girl.

So she was very glad when she came into consciousness, feeling the cool sheets against her skin, and with the smell of home as she breathed in. She could feel that Sparhawk was still here with her, sleeping very deeply, it seemed.

With her eyes still closed, she rolled over to cuddle against him, her bare skin against him and her arms around him.

Suddenly, Elaine's eyes popped open.

This is not Sparhawk... She sat up cautiously, leaning over to see the stranger's face...

He stroked her back and her face, holding her close.

"All will be well, love, all will be well."

He kissed her again.

"It will."

She smiled. "I wonder if I can still fit into my clothes," she mused. "It's been a long time."

She knows Sparhawk's will fit him...though they might be a little big. She closed her eyes and snuggled against him, sighing. He was the same. Much the same. A little less war-weary and a little more naive.

But other than that, the same.

He smiled and wiggled in her and against her, and kissed her a lot.

"Mmmm, you feel very good."

He shook his head.

"We should probably get up and explore sometime..."

Elaine laughed lightly. He was sweet and affectionate.

"And so do you, beloved."

She held him. "We probably should. After all, you have much to see. It's a very interesting world out there."

Elaine moaned a little. "Mmmmm, but I don't think you want to get up now."

She grinned up at him. "You do not seem anxious to move."

he chuckled.

"Being with you? Feeling the birth of something? Feeling this? Why would I? And yet I could, and would, an you wanted to."

She laughed again. "I felt much the same way on our honeymoon."

He blushed and kissed her.

"You are amazing, and I am the luckiest man alive."

"And I am a very lucky woman indeed."

Everything had a reason, she thought. She just needed to find the reason for this.
