Who: Lucas and Cuddy
What: Lucas is snooping
Where: Cuddy's hospital in London
When: Thursday afternoon
Rating: PG-13

Oookay. Bored was something Lucas often became during days when he had nothing to do but one would think, in an alternate universe, life would have been a bit less boring. Yet it wasn't and he found himself working dead ends; lots of dead ends, getting paid only the minimum and finding he had absolutely no friends. At all. So what was Lucas Douglas to do when he was lonely and bored? Stalk his favorite Dean of Medicine.

Well, maybe not 'stalk' but 'follow', at least. Stalking could be considered a crime, following not so much. So dressed in relatively casual clothes he walked into her London hospital. London was an interesting place and he found he greatly enjoyed the accents. Asking for Cuddy's office the nurse gave him a strange look, told him she wasn't in and yet pointed the way to her office. Thanking her he slipped on over and dropped onto a chair near the door, picking up a newspaper. He opened it and used it to hide his face, only barely peeking over it at the door.

"It does, and it does suck. And hence me not taking any vacations." Definitely not on the agenda any time soon. "Besides I wouldn't know where to go and I've got kids to raise. Can't just take a vacation by myself. And they're in school."

"Oh, well, yeah. I guess I could see that, then. Not being able to leave. Maybe when summer rolls around though you could go do something." Lucas shrugged. "Or there are always weekend trips."

"Yeah, summer might be nice. They're on winter break though. I should have gone now but.." she shrugged her shoulders. She didn't know why she didn't other then she didn't feel right leaving the hospitals.

"Eh, oh well. Vacations can be overrated. I haven't been on a real vacation since I graduated from college. I guess now, though, with Portkeys and stuff vacations are easier to have." After all, he'd gotten to London in a matter of minutes.

"That's true. Before I was here, I was kept on an island. That's where I met Clark Kent. It was nice. I miss the island.." in a lot of ways, not just for the sunshine. It looked like she was done with lunch though. "The portkeys are genius though. Wish I'd thought of that."

"An island? I guess I wouldn't mind being on one at a resort but...to not be able to leave? That would drive me nuts." Really he liked to move around a lot and the portkeys really helped with that. "Yeah, portkeys are nice. Feels like I'm cheating, though."

"Yeah we were stuck there. Unable to leave. Tons of people on an island. It was.. insane but it was nice actually. Sometimes I prefer it to this.." Less people to deal with technically. "A little cheating but thats fun too.." she smiled some.

"I guess cheating is okay." A pause and he blushed. "Well, not cheating...in relationships. I don't think that is okay. Cheating traveling agencies though is fine. You know?" Great, Lucas, way to make an ass out of yourself. He sighed.

She smirked some, "That's understandable. I'm not even sure why the airlines are still in business to be honest. You think they wouldn't be." Oh well. "And no, cheating in relationships is definitely not good."

"So, okay." Changing the subject her. Redirect, your honor? "Would you be willing to go out on a date with me?" Maybe he was moving fast but he wanted to take her to a less awkward place. Somewhere nice, where they could have fancy water with lemons in it and the likes. "To dinner? Somewhere that isn't a cafeteria."

Her eyebrows went up a little bit and she stared at him. "A... a date? Really? With.. me?" she didn't know what to say to be honest. It was obvious that he thought she was attractive but a date. "I um.. I..it's not that I don't want to. I just.. I don't know where.. I am, do you know what I mean? I've just been through a lot of bad breakups. And.. then the thing with House.." And then there was James Bond, she didn't know what was going on there.

Of course he was a little disappointed but smiled through it, even as his gaze averted to his food.

"Its fine, its fine. Really. I just thought maybe you'd want to go to dinner. That's all."

"Um.. well, dinner's okay. I just.. don't know if it should be .. a date. I mean a date date.. I don't know. But dinner's okay," she really hated disappointing people even if it was someone she didn't know.

"Its fine. We don't have to do anything." He shook his head. "Maybe it was a stupid suggestion. Its fine. I don't want...to make you feel obligated."

"I don't feel obligated, honest. I just don't think I can handle things, not at this moment. When I am.. I'll let you know," she smiled slightly.

"Okay." So that hadn't turned out quite like he'd wanted it to but...well, shit happened he supposed. All he could do was nod a bit an accept that, nibbling on a cookie.

Lisa sighed a bit. This was why she didn't do things like this anymore. She just couldn't. "I should get back to work."

"Yeah. People to save and all that. I'll bus your tray for you." He wasn't going to follow her out, in other words.

Lisa gave a small nod, "Thank you. I'll call you when I have that job.." then she turned and headed out.
