Who: Seth and Tachikoma
What: Seth is freaked and runs over to Tach's for help...and gets a surprise.
Seth hadn't had the best of days, so when he got home and his hand went through the mouse beside his computer he thought, at first, that he might just be imagining it. The day had sucked and he was tired. So he was hallucinating or his crazy had somehow upped itself without alerting him.
He tried again--same problem. And again. Then, suddenly, he fell through the seat of his chair.
It felt kind of like drifting downward through water. Feeling oneself sieving through a solid object was not the most comfortable feeling, especially when he started to go through the floor.
Panicked, he kicked out--and went shooting up toward the ceiling. He yelped and backpedaled, windmilling his arms.
He hovered there, not moving for a moment, then began to test this weird air-swimming thing. He couldn't figure out how to turn it off, but he did manage to figure out how hard he had to concentrate to get himself moving. It really was all about concentrating, as it turned out, not about the flailing he'd been trying to use. And once he got past the weirdness of it, he figured this might be cool--but he wasn't quite done freaking out yet.
So where to go? He went through the door to his apartment, then up through three more stories to the roof. The wind buffeted him about a bit, but he didn't much care. He could hold himself in place pretty well. He looked in all directions from where he was.
Well, when in doubt...try something stupid.
He shot off the edge of the roof before he could tell himself not to and, despite how much this kind of sucked--that was cool. He was flying, genuinely flying through the air.
He headed in the general direction of Tach's estate...which wasn't easy, because it was hard to judge roads from a bird's-eye-view. But he made it there eventually, coming slowly down toward her front door. It had been a fun trip, scaring the shit out of anyone who happened to look up.
He tried knocking on the door--his hand went through. "Stupid." He glared at the door. No real way of knocking...but who needed a knock?
He carefully pressed toward, then through, the door, reappearing on Tach's doormat. "Tach?" he called out tentatively. This was going to be fun to explain.
