Cassidy had needed to get back to his normal life, such as it was. He dragged Soren out after he made sure Henn was okay on her own for a while. He needed to get out and drive, just like he always did when he needed to sort his thoughts. He dragged Soren along with, and they spent a night at a cheap motel.
The next morning, they found a place to get coffee, and a place to fuel up, and they started on their way again. Cassidy had been driving south all night, so he decided to drive east next. Before long, they were in the arid, dry mountains of northern Nevada. Cass had made sure to stock up on drinks and munchies before they hit the state border of California, and they were set for a while, at least until they got to Reno.

"You know what pisses me off, Soren? Toy poodles. No, seriously. We bred dogs to be hunters, domesticated them down from wolves, and then we decide to make something like that? Give me a break. I see absolutely no reason they should exist. They're neurotic, bad-tempered, and stupid." He smirked, "Like me."
