Who: Aziraphale and Crowley
What: Chess (which is to say, who knows?)
When: Backdated to... Wednesday? Yesterday.
Warnings: There's no telling. We haven't quite decided, yet.

Crowley wasn't quite sure what to make of the sickeningly modern building the Angel had directed him to. Looking around the lobby, he decided it was something he could imagine himself designing- perhaps he had. He hardly remembered all of the designs he had created, over his decades in New York. Still, it was hardly the sort of thing he expected his ang- Aziraphale, to bother with.

Deciding to stop thinking so far into things, he simply willed himself to the Angel's front room, lounging over his disgustingly chic leather couch. Rather than announce his presence, he simply reached over to turn on the over-priced flat-screen TV, settling on one of his soaps. In Thai.

He couldn't hide the smirk, amused, as he gave the Angel a more thorough look over. "Excuse me, but who might you be, and what have you done with the guardian of the East Gate, and the stick that was once perpetually lodged up his non-existant sphyncter?" His wings ruffled as he let out a soft laugh, moving another piece.

"Check,"

"Now that he actually has a sphyncter, my dear, well," Zira cleared his throat and shifted in his seat. "Well, now there's a whole new set of rules."

"Oh? Would you care to fill me in on those rules, Angel?"

Zira made a move on the board, easily putting Crowley in check. he smiled a devious smile. "I'm afraid telling you is against the rules, my dear."

"How delightfully arrogant," It was said with a tone of genuine approval, smirking into his glass with a drink as he moved himself out of check.

"I rather expected you would approve, my dear." Zira answered with a smirk and a rustling of his feathers.

Crowley's eyes moved to the Angel's wings as they moved, but he quickly diverted his attention back to the board, to make another move. It was rude to stare at another's wings. Closer to offensive, really, and-

Vaguely dirty. He couldn't help but shift in his seat at the thought.

Zira felt very smug, though he maintained a neutral expression. He rather liked messing with Crowley, and wondered why he'd never thought to do this sort of thing before.

"My dear, are you sure your head is in the game?" Zira moved, claiming one of Crowley's pieces.

The demon wasn't sure what upset him more- the fact that he knew he was being messed with, something very atypical for the Angel, or... the fact that he was playing along, even after the realization. Curiousity had always been one of his shortcomings, and he couldn't help but keep prodding the proverbial beehive*, looking for answers.

Taking a second to think, he moved to claim one of Zira's pieces, shaking his head. "I'm rather sure it doesn't matter, as you've started to cheat," If not in the game itself, than by distracting Crowley from playing to his ability.

(*Which was also a vaguely dirty phrase in his head, that he tried his best not to adknowledge, lest he be caught in the act of thinking it.)

"New rules," Zira stated with a matter-of-fact tone. HIs foot shifted under the table, brushing Crowley's foot, either by accident or deliberate choice. His mind was as blank as his expression.

He felt the touch, but chose to write it off, focusing instead on the game. "I take it I don't get to know these rules either, dear?" A hint of annoyance crept into his voice, but he played it off with anoter move on the board, and another small shift of his wings.

"I dare say, if you wish to get anything accomplished, then, you'll have to make your move,"

"I've a feeling we're no longer talking about the game," Zira moved his piece, putting Crowley in check once again. He shifted, and his wings spasmed behind him. He drew his hand across his lip in a somewhat suggestive gesture.

"I've a feeling we're not talking about the same game, but a game nonetheless," He sat back, moving to get out of check one last time, although he knew he was on his last legs. It was even more apparent, as he glanced back to watch the Angel's wings again, letting his sight linger that time.

"Are you quite alright, dear?"

"Never better, dear," Zira answered with a very smug smile as he won the game. At least, the chess game. "Dear me, did I just win? The first time in 6000 years."

The Demon turned his eyes back to the board, and looking over the configuration, was entirely sure the Angel had cheated. It was enough to get a near-proud smile out of him, as he nodded.

"Indeed, it seems you have, dear. Congratulations," There was a comment to be made, about taking his prize, but he wasn't quite feeling that... vulgar, just yet.

"Huh." Zira looked over the board. "Winning feels good, my dear. I can see why you never let me win, before. So. What's my prize? Surely I deserve something, after 6000 years." He batted his eyes, feigning a look of pure innocence.

"Come now, Angel, what did I ever recieve for winning, other than accusations of cheating? Which, by the way, didn't go unnoticed," He finished off his liquor, moving to pour himself another glass.

"That's just it, my dear. You never cared for my vulgarity before. Now, dare I say, you're enjoying it." In which, 'enjoy' was something far more vulgar than it sounded.

Zira gasped and leaned back, a hand at his neck, attempting to feign innocence. "I should say not, my dear. You must be losing your touch."

Crowley seemed nonplussed. "The thing is, dear, I'm not losing my touch. I may be misusing it, given recent events, but apparently that is up to you and your 'rules'."

Chin tilting downward, Crowley's golden eyes peered over at Zira over the edge of his sunglasses. "Is that sssso, dear?" He let the hiss go, a mischievous smirk passing over his lips.
