Who: Everyone involved in the Solomon's Crown plot
Where: a private meeting hall in Italy
What: Suiting up, comparing notes, eating dinner
When: Early evening, Milan time

The meeting hall was not huge. It could have been any meeting hall in any library in the world. The fact that it was filled to the brim with food that technically wasn't supposed to be there was the only thing that set the room apart from any other.

The people inside the room, however, were such a varied amalgam that there was no mistaking this for a book of the month club meeting.

There were maps of Israel and Jerusalem pinned to the walls, and various scribblings in both English and Creole on the sides. A stack of neat notes, written in Italian, were on the table, far away from the food. A photocopied packet of the notes was by each of the seven seats.

He grinned. "I can already tell we're going to be friends," he said. "Can't wait to see the sorcery part. And the looking cool part--don't get me wrong."

He laughed.

"No worries, good sir."

"So...do you think you're going to be able to take out the sorcerer guy?" he asked, peeking at the documents again. "Because I don't know if anybody else is quite equipped..."

Merlin grinned.

"I will. I have no doubt it will be tough, but I have a plan."

Jonas spread his hands. "Enlighten me!"

He looked left, looked right, and leaned in close.

"I'm going to use... magic."

he winked.

"Really though, the process I have in mind would make no sense to anyone not trained in the arts. Suffice it to say I plan on making sure he has more power than he has ever dreamed possible, and make him choke on it."

He gasped. "NO."

He nodded. "His greed for power will make him short out and pay the consequences. Sounds very 'Aladdin.' I like it."

Merlin chuckled.

"Too many would be Master wizards put too much thought into elaborate powers ands spells. Sometimes, the truth is just simple, and so is magic."

"People aren't so hard to figure out, as they seem, most of the time," he agreed. "I hope I get to see that. Sounds like quite the light show."

"Indeed. Most are just confused."

He grinned.

"We'll see what I can do. It'll be a handful, it looks like, with everything going on, but I am sure we can work it out."
