After taking his Mother to check out the apartment he had found, and getting her unofficial seal of approval, he had been prompt to sign the paperwork. It wasn't that he felt any need to have Molly approve where he was living, it was the simple fact he had never gone through the process of renting before. His cabin at the reservation was provided for him and he had no input in the decision making process. It was a new experience for him, renting an apartment, and he wanted to make sure it was worth his money.
The paperwork had been signed just a few days back and he had spent most of his New Year's Eve apparating back and forth from his cabin, bringing his very limited number of possessions to the new apartment. It didn't take him long to do this and once it was done, it occurred to him that he was going to have to break down and purchase a good deal of furniture.
For the present moment, he was sitting on the middle of the floor in his sitting room, eating canned sausages with a plastic fork as he listened idly to the sounds of Bob Dylan floating from his record player. He glanced down at his watch for a brief moment, sighing. This was not how he was supposed to spend the beginning of a New Year. It was 2001 now. He was supposed to be doing something exciting, something fun.
He placed the can down and leaped up, snatching up his traveling cloak. He wasn't too eager to see family or friends, he just wanted a few good laughs. However...maybe Hestia was available?
No, don't pester her, he thought to himself. He didn't want her to think he was desperate.
Wait, why would she even think that? Hell, why was he worried if she thought that?
Shaking his head, he pushed her out of his mind and settled on the prospect of just a few pints. A few pints and then bed. It didn't sound nearly as fun though...
Once he left his apartment, it wasn't much of a walk till he was in the muggle territories. He was sick of the local wizarding bars and pretty much stayed away since his incident a few months back. He stepped into one on a corner, taking an immediate seat at the bar. "Black Velvet, please."
