The comment about the price made her shrug, "I don't set'em. Guinness is a fairly high shelf beer and we don't use cheap shit champagne, so... It's about on bar." See? Bar small talk. Hermione could make that. She knew everything about the bartending job just like she knew about anything she set her mind to, though this did seem quite a bit lower than the work her brilliant mind normally would be capable of doing. She slipped the money into the till and gazed back at him.
His question of her unfinished comment of 'better than' made her frown a bit. "I'm worried about some of the things your brother is getting into..." She exhaled slowly, internally debating if she should actually tell Charlie his brother had become a criminal or not. "He's just not as safe as I'd prefer, is all." She hedged her bets on that one, it seemed.
"Not certain where Ron is tonight. Probably at some bloody card game." There, it was a small hint of what Ron was up to without going into the full mess of the young man's illegal activities.
She studied Charlie's eyes, looking thoughtful and concerned. She was so tempted to see if she could get into his mind and unlock any memories that might still be there. Perhaps she could give him some things back. Share memories with him. Her heart ached just to look into his gaze.
