WHERE Rabastan Lestrange's home
RATING Med
She'd been told that Lee was sent home through the floo. When he never answered her journal message she assumed that he was angry at her- she couldn't blame him. Verity had dragged him in front of the Lestranges and while she didn't remember much about them from before, she'd found herself at the end of Rabastan's wand plenty enough and knew it was no where you wanted to be. She was still residually angry at the friends she assumed were in the Order for not warning her and each time the burns on her leg pulsed with pain that anger was renewed.
Yet as she read her journal, read the message from Lestrange about a pet in the basement she didn't feel the pain. All she felt was a choking fear that she was understanding what was writing. She didn't hesitate, she slammed the book closed and rushed down the stairs to the first level. Verity had never been to the basement and she really had no idea how to get there. Lestrange, of course, wanted to torture her so he wouldn't disclose the information. Trying as hard as she could she looked for a door that would to more stairs but found nothing.
She was starting to panic, imagining Lee in all sorts of broken ways when she opened a door leading down to a dark staircase. She'd vowed never to go into another basement after Lucas' house but if Lee was down there... if he was hurt- Dammit, he'd floo'd into a burning Lestrange's house for her. What was she supposed to do? Let him rot? Hadn't she prayed that he would some how figure it out and come rescue her from Lucas? Taking a deep breath she erected walls in her mind and slithered down the stairs.
"Lee?" she called. Her voice echoed off of stone walls. Dungeon walls. He had a dungeon down here that was lit just barely by flickering fire. "Lee?" she called again. Her stomach was sick as she started walking among the rows of cells, again vowing to murder Lestrange with her own hands.
