S T A T U S: Thread // Complete

There was a tightness in her chest that she wasn't exactly comfortable with, but it was a pain she knew would not go away. If anything it was bound to get worse before it got better. Asteria didn't handle new situations very well and this most certainly was a new situation. She didn't meet new people often, she preferred her safe, adorable, and well mannered circle of friends. There was no honest reason for why she was as shy as she was, but she had learned to live with the conditions a long time ago. As she walked from her apparition point, she took in several breathes in an attempt to loosen the tight grip on her chest. If she continued to remind herself that this would be nothing like being sorted into her house, there was a good chance that she just might make it to the planned meeting.

She had a sinking sensation that she was running late, particularly since she had spent a good hour going through her extensive closet. Clothing had been thrown to the side, the house elves were frustrated beyond a reasonable level, and she had been completely stumped. It wasn't that she was trying to look good or impress Davies...she simply didn't know what he meant by casual. What was casual for someone who didn't have their clothes specially ordered? In the end she'd simply grabbed a summer dress with a light cardigan. That was casual...right?

Now that she was approaching the door to the cafe, she could feel her nerves start to pick up. I shouldn't do this.....this was a bad idea! The thoughts of doubt were simply invading her mind despite her best efforts to keep them out. Even as she reached for the door handle, she had to fight against the urge to turn and head back to the apparition point. It took a strong internal shove to get her inside the door, but once she had managed that there was no turning back. She would have to go through the meeting now. She'd look ridiculous if she simply stepped in, froze on the spot, and stepped out. With a hesitant step forward, her eyes scanned the room searching for some sort of sign that Roger was present. She wasn't exactly a Quidditch fan, so he wouldn't be familiar.

"I haven't," Roger admitted with a shrug, "I would be interested in going eventually, though."

"I've traveled a lot, due to Quidditch, but have to admit that my travels haven't taken me that far. Eastern Europe is the farthest I've gone yet, for work or pleasure," Roger said in a thoughtful tone, mentally running through all of the places he had been to be sure that he was telling her the truth.

"How about you? You strike me as the worldly traveler type," Roger said with a slight smile as he looked over at his companion.

Asteria shrugged. "Not particularly...though it isn't because I don't want to. I've just been so focused on accomplishing my goals that I've never taken the time. First with school and then with the Ministry. The only time I've had to travel was the holidays with my family and that was usual to one of our estates."

It was a little disappointing when she thought about it. There were so many places they could have gone and not once had they put the effort into it. "In all honesty I've only been throughout the British Isles, Switzerland, Germany, and France."
