Till Death Do Us Part Rita Skeeter
The sun has risen on a day of celebration in the Wizarding world. Many of us, this reporter included, have spent the last several weeks directing our curiosity toward the possible date and method by which the Minister of Magic, Kingsley Shaklebolt, would initiate the procedures outlined in the Decree on Marriage and Family Planning, which, as you know, was passed as the new year greeted us. For weeks the call has been out for unmarried citizens of legal age to register their marital status, but now, it is my pleasure to inform the general populace that the time has come to join together the young in our communities.
This very morning the Ministry of Magic has released the names of those waiting with much excitement for their upcoming nuptials. It is my great pleasure to offer the warmest congratulations to the following couples.
Oliver Wood and Pansy Parkinson Harry Potter and Daphne Greengrass Wayne Hopkins and Ginerva Weasley Theodore Nott and Demelza Robins Roger Davies and Asteria Greengrass Owen Cauldwell and Morag MacDougal Seamus Finnigan and Luna Lovegood Kristof Bundy and Lavender Brown
Some of these names may grab your attention, and this reporter must admit being somewhat surprised at such pairings. I do not normally like to question our Ministry but surely some of these pairs are not meant to last. Harry Potter, Roger Davies and Oliver Wood are are but three of the names that peak this reporters interest.
Much controversy lies around the pairing of Harry James Potter, hero of the Wizarding world, and Miss Daphne Greengrass. Miss Greengrass is from a well respected Pureblood family and yet there is still reason for concern. Could Miss Greengrass truly be what Harry needs? Can she live up to the role of Mrs. Potter? Many have their doubts.
The Potter and Greengrass pairing is not the only one to raise eyebrows, both Roger Davies and Oliver Wood appear in the headlines on a regular basis. Both men are well known in the world of Professional Quidditch. Mr. Davies is a member of the Montrose Magpies and Oliver Wood is the keeper for Puddlemere United. More importantly, both young men have quiet the history when it comes to dating. Can their matches, Miss Asteria Greengrass and Miss Pansy Parkinson really keep their interest? Many women have tried and failed miserably? What could these two woman possibly offer that those before them could not?
Relations within the Wizarding world are starting to heat up as the news has spread. Rumours are moving that tell of some of the individuals paired are not happy. This reporter has to question how the Ministery of Magic intends to deal with those who do not abide by the legislation of our society. |
