I did it! I did it! I summoned a glyph all by myself and piloted it out to the ocean. It's not quite the Abarat - the sea smells different - but I'll take it.

It's nice being alone. I didn't realize princesses had so many people around them constantly.

Do I want to know what that is?

Think a very very very smart sea monster.

That's terrifying! And it's hostile?

From what I'm told, yes. I was lucky enough not to see one.

That's good. It doesn't sound like a very good thing to run across.

It certainly made swimming in the ocean more interesting. I miss Abaratian ocean, though. Not as salty. It smelled fresher. I know that sounds crazy, seas smelling differently, but it's true.

I don't think I'd do more than get my feet wet if I knew that sort of thing was out there.

I can understand what you mean about the seas smelling differently. It's the little things that you notice first, I think.

I didn't know the first time I went swimming, but after that I stuck to ships.

Can't blame you there. How big is this thing supposed to be?

They vary. Teenagers apparently are about fifteen feet where the adults average twenty. Of course, this is according to my friend Samuel Klepp, who might not be the best source.

Yeesh. Wouldn't want to piss one of those off.

Nope. They won't attack anything red, so sailors in the Abarat paint their boats red.

That's a handy piece of information to have. Do they just find red soothing, or is there some kind of aversion to it?

I have no idea.
