Apparently, the only thing one has to do to stop drinking is to simply... stop.

Which will then lead to life becoming one big never-ending ball of happiness and joy, I'm sure.

Thank you.

I can scrounge up some coffee, I think.

A couple of more people got wind of this. They're stopping by too. I hope you don't mind. I guess I didn't really want to be alone after all.

See? People do care, Kitt. You'll get through this.

I didn't know, Nate. I didn't know. I thought I was alone.

Day one.

Day One. It has a nice ring to it. And that number will only get bigger.

You're not alone, Kitt.

My grand daughter said you were going to get a couple dogs. She's kind of fond of you too.

Every day.

I think I'm going to lose it again, Nate.

I am. She's really cute. You have a family to be proud of. And I'm fond of her too. She was going to help me name them. Maybe you and she could help me pick them out, too.

Another person sort of shook some sense into me, about the children. How they're reading, and I wasn't setting a good example. He was right. I wouldn't want Ash to be disappointed in me.

You're going to feel like you're going to lose it all the time, Kitt. That's one of the things you have to learn to deal with. You only lose it if you let yourself lose it, and if not wanting to disappoint Ash helps, lean on that. She's a good kid, and she would be disappointed. I'm glad she wasn't around for my lapse a few months ago, but we have no idea what she's been though with her father, or her mother. I'll make sure she doesn't read the post, but yeah. I know she had a blast when Eliot took her and Riley to get their dogs. She'd love to help you pick them and name them too.

I just can't remember the last time I've shed so many tears in the course of one day. How can we live our lives like this, feeling this way all the time? I'm sorry, yes. I don't want to disappoint Ash. She's a great kid, you're right. I'd hate to see that look on her face.

She misses her father. I probably shouldn't have, but I spoke to him. I told him. I'm sorry for interfering. I know - he's like me. Don't let her read any of them, Nate. I don't want to do that to her. I don't want her to think that way about me.

I'd really like that.

Yeah. I...I don't know about Lindsey. He's...I don't know how to reach him, he hasn't even tried to contact Ash. It's...complicated.

Let's get you through the next could days, then we'll think about the dogs.

Oh. I was hoping he might have. I'm sorry. I'll stay out of it.

That sounds like a good idea.

The thing about it is, Eliot doesn't trust Lindsey and I don't know where we stand with him. He didn't hesitate to help Eliot when he was injured, but he doesn't seem at all interested in getting to know any of us. I'm keeping my distance, hoping he comes around. And if he doesn't, it's his loss.

I'm sorry. I can't imagine having family available and not bothering to acknowledge them.
